Human beings are imperfect and ever-changing. If someone apologizes and says they no longer believe that way, even if it was last night, believe them until you have reason to doubt. People constantly change and grow. Normalize accepting that.
In three years when I'm a Senior and the realization FINALLY sinks in that there are never gonna be decent guys at this school, what will I do then? Probably join a dating app...
I could fill a book with all the sweet things he does for me. My parents adore him, my good friends picked him(yeah, they meddle😂), my grandma loved how happy he made me when she met him before she passed, my extended family on Mom's side loves him, my paternal grandpa likes him
@michaela_faith_ I also had horrible friends growing up. Which led to this, because these people were still nicer😅 The good news is it led to me meeting my best friend, and eventually that led to me meeting my boyfriend. Who's genuinely the best man I've EVER met.
@michaela_faith_ I grew up(am still in, just lessened at this point) in an abusive home, so it took me a minute to realize I had some lousy friends. I think people forget friends can be abusive too, not just partners. Thankfully, I now have amazing friends and an AMAZING guy.
Caffeine gives me panic attacks, I haven't woken up well rested since I was a kid, and I have PMS symptoms 3 weeks of the month. If I'm feeling energetic, it's probably a badly done clone.
Emotional manipulation leads to a*use.
Don’t let people make you feel crazy when you’re not
Don’t let them bring you to a point where you don’t even know what you’re apologizing for
Don’t let people talk over you and refuse to see how they might be wrong
Just walk away.
"I wish plastic straws didn't exist" and I wish ableist people didn't exist, I guess you'll just have to coexist with plastic straws and I'll just have to coexist with you...
The fact that there are people with 20/20 vision, no significant trauma, neurotypical, and are not in pain 24/7 is crazy to me. Like, you get up in the morning and just exist? Wild.
You don’t have to worry about arguing in front of your children when you learn how to have healthy, respectful arguments that end with the conflict resolved.
