We condemn Libya's parliament ratifying the Türkiye-Libya MoU. It infringes upon the sovereign rights of Greece and does not comply with international law of the sea: it is null and void.

Solidarity with Greece and Cyprus. Libya needs a UN-facilitated path to elections.

We stand with the people of Serbia and hope that this Sunday marks a step towards a better future, with no turning back on democracy and freedom.

Young people and the whole of Serbian society deserve a country where the rule of law is respected and everyone can live free from repression.

Climate change is already costing lives and billions. We cannot afford more empty promises.
Ahead of #COP31, the European Parliament calls for urgent emissions cuts, a shift away from fossil fuels and climate finance for the countries hit hardest.
Time to act!

Let’s stop reacting to Big Tech’s agenda. Democracy must set the terms of the debate.

Europe can inspire a global approach to AI. With the AI Act and the GDPR, the European Union has led the way on AI governance. Now we must turn that leadership into global action.

The EPP is siding with the far right to water down the EU methane regulation, citing "gas supply risks."

Methane harms our climate and health, and cutting it is one of the fastest ways to slow warming. Companies must be held accountable for leaks.

Erasmus+ must be for everyone, whatever your background or postcode.
Thanks to our MEP Sabrina Repp, it won't be an elite programme. 🇪🇺

✅ More access for apprentices & vocational learners
✅ A stronger youth voice
✅ Recognition for volunteers
✅ Greener travel incentives

Erasmus+ goes far beyond employability. It builds solidarity!

Today is a victory for International Law and for Europe’s soul and a powerful reminder that accountability matters.

The decision to award the 2026 Sakharov Prize to the International Criminal Court and its officials, nominated by the S&D Group, sends a powerful message to the world.

Today, dignity has prevailed.

BREAKING: The @IntlCrimCourt and its officials have been awarded this year’s Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought!

We are proud to have put forward their candidacy at a time when international justice is under attack. This prize is a powerful recognition of the ICC’s vital work to uphold international law, fight impunity and deliver justice for the victims of the gravest crimes.

Let this send a clear message to war criminals and authoritarian regimes everywhere: Europe stands firmly behind the ICC and will defend international justice against those who seek to undermine it.

No one is above the law.

EU Parliament is set to endorse the provisional agreement on the Chemicals Omnibus today, marking an important victory for public health and consumer protection.

We led a pro-European coalition that pushed back against the European Commission’s harmful deregulatory proposals.

Big tech doesn't make the rules. We do.

Recent AI incidents have made one thing clear: self-regulation is not enough.

With the AI Act, the European Union has led the way on AI governance. Now we must turn that leadership into global action—by convening a Global Forum that brings together the U.S., China and other major technological powers.

We expect the European Commission to stand firmly behind the AI Act and complement it with an AI Liability Act.

Stop letting Big Tech police itself!

Let's get to work!✊

Europe still wastes valuable resources: almost 90% of our economy remains linear.
A stronger circular economy will cut import dependence, make products more affordable & strengthen EU's industry while protecting our planet.

Time to seize this opportunity!

Georgia’s Constitutional Court today began hearing the government's bid to ban 5 opposition parties.

In 1996 the Court helped build Georgia’s democracy. 30 years on, we hope it won’t help the regime tear it down.

#Protests #France #Italy - People say NO to 🇪🇺 spending cuts on #education and #housing. Social unrest is inevitable when people’s needs are ignored for too long.

⚠️ I warn EU leaders: Do not cut funding for Cohesion Policy, the Common Agricultural Policy, or housing. Such cuts will trigger even greater social unrest.

❗️Spending cuts are not just "technical adjustments". They are political choices that abandon young people, regions, and farmers.

Europe must invest in people, social cohesion, and housing — austerity has failed. Europe must listen to young people before it is too late.

The real enemies of Europe are the vulture funds that throw an 87-year-old disabled woman out of her home. The real enemies of Europe are the climate deniers and not the migrants.

@IratxeGarper today on the recent EUCO summit.

https://t.co/cXIcrnWXGl

[S&D Group @TheProgressives]

We need a European budget that matches the scale of the challenges we face. We don't need cuts that force us to choose between security, competitiveness and social justice.

Because the question is not whether we can afford to build this Europe. The question is how much it will cost us if we don't.

@IratxeGarper

[S&D Group @TheProgressives]

Europe’s enemies aren’t migrants. They’re vulture funds evicting an 87-year-old disabled woman. Autocrats and war-mongers making citizens pay for their wars. Climate deniers sacrificing our homes and crops for profit. And the European accomplices enabling them.

@IratxeGarper

[S&D Group @TheProgressives]

Member States have to agree on new own resources for the next EU long-term budget. The period 2028-2034 is crucial and will determine whether or not our Union can tackle current and future challenges. It would be impossible without this fresh money.
