I don’t understand expats who only complain about everything all the time. Yes it’s hard to adapt but you can’t just expect everything to be like home when you move abroad? If you hate this country so much why did you even come? (talking about Germany but it’s true elsewhere too)

@Archer_WIEN That’s exactly why a lot of Europeans really hate American expats (more in the South, Germany isn’t that popular). They often bring their foreign salaries and pay for apartments that are unaffordable for locals, driving up the price for everything and worsening our housing crisis

The people making fun of you for being scared of dogs are always those scared of spiders 🤡 no shade your fear is valid too. But a tiny spider cannot hurt you, a dog CAN seriously injure and even kill you. So when we’re talking about reason, my fear is 1000x more reasonable.

@Archer_WIEN That’s what I don’t understand. Germany has never been a paradise, don’t you do a minimum of research before moving somewhere far away?? Same with people who move to Portugal and suddenly realise it rains in winter, the job market is bad and salaries are in fact terrible. No shit

@slagmaxxing I’ve been in the same job for years and it’s okay, and I even still get headhunters contacting me for other positions but they’re mostly weird and it’s a bit of a dark cloud to know it probably wouldn’t be that easy to switch if I wanted to
