Most young people are trapped in debt.
Not because they are lazy, but because they were never taught how to escape it.
Debt becomes dangerous when it turns into a cycle…you borrow to pay another loan, then borrow again to survive.
If you feel stuck in a debt trap, here is how to start getting out:
1. List all your debts. Write everything down, including Fuliza. Note the principal, interest rate, repayment amount, and payment duration. You cannot fix what you have not clearly seen.
2. List all your income sources. Know exactly how much money comes in every month.
3. List all your expenses. Separate them into essential and non-essential.
Essential expenses are things like rent and food…costs you cannot avoid.
Now cut down the non-essentials: subscriptions, unnecessary shopping, impulse spending. Remove as many as possible until you stabilize.
The goal is simple: increase the money left after expenses so you can attack your debt.
If the amount is still small, adjust the essentials too. Move to a cheaper house. Buy food from the market. Cook more at home.
Sometimes recovery requires temporary sacrifice.
4. Prioritize your loans. Start paying off the ones with the highest interest first.
5. Stop taking new loans. Do not add new debt until you clear the existing one, unless it is a truly productive loan.
6. Talk to your lenders. Sometimes you can negotiate a better repayment plan.
