No one should be shocked. All the signs were there. It’s not one failure, it’s many.
Inflation.
The Border
Tentifada on campus.
Biden’s health and the perception of coverup.
Tentative support for Israel with American hostages in Gaza.
A weak and broadly unliked candidate with no primary process.
A campaign focused on mood and not policy.
The Walz pick.
Still… the fact that Americans were able to ignore 40/44 of Trump’s own advisors, January 6, the stolen documents scandal, and a campaign marked by vulgarity, racism, and fear mongering, not to mention the prospect of RFK Jr… I just find it stunning.
And I’ll say what I said when he won in 2016: He will embarrass you. Soon enough.
Most Americans are looking for leadership that focuses on getting things done and common sense solutions that can bring people together. They want a hopeful, positive vision for America, not just divisiveness and performative politics.
🚨🚨 #PrinciplesFirst alert:
Question: What do you think of Tucker’s reporting on J6?
@ThomTillis (R-NC): “I think it’s bullsh*t. I was here.”
Thank you, Senator. Principled Americans stand with you on this & know the truth.
.@HeathMayo: “Populist demagogues tell us that we’re all victims of our institutions—that they are rigged against us, and that some other group of Americans—the rich, the woke, or the elite—are to blame ... That is not a recipe for American greatness.”
Gov Hogan is a good man and would make a good President. But the GOP isn’t interested in competent leadership and someone who works across the aisle. Only a petulant culture warrior willing to use the government to punish his enemies will do. Good on Hogan for not being that guy.
Truly was a great event. Inspiring, challenging, productive discussions. Refreshing to hear thoughtful discussion rather than fear-based catastrophe-ism of the major parties. Thanks @HeathMayo and all the other volunteers!
Wow—what a weekend! Thanks to everyone who joined us (especially our volunteer speakers and organizers) to put #PrinciplesFirst for two days of defending our institutions & championing the things that truly make us America.
We may need a bigger room next year.
Some over-eager pushback (IMO) from the #PrinciplesFirst crowd at John Bolton opining that Trump didn't know the insurrection would happen. He knows Trump and thinks Trump did plenty of damaging things but it wasn't from his mental acuity.
.@RadioFreeTom: What happens in Ukraine matters for the freedom of people around the world and it affects the lives and futures of Americans.

1/ The main thesis of “The Bitcoin Reformation” is that there are four fundamental parallels between the Protestant Reformation and the present day, which could signal profound societal and economic changes ahead.
Report: According to sources the Atlanta Falcons are in talks with the Jaguars to trade up to the number 1 overall pick to take “their guy” at quarterback.
Any of the other teams in need of a QB will need to get this trade done before the Falcons if they don’t want to miss out!
Facebook Bad News: The site being down has had essentially zero impact on people's lives and they have easily found other alternatives.
Facebook Good News: This is a nice proof point in their case against being a monopoly that is subject to anti-trust review!
