Not sure if this has hit the news outside of Canada, but a mass grave was found at a residential school where we settlers were known to have abused indigenous children for decades. Everyone thinks of Canada as being "nice" but we too have faults which must be acknowledged. ☹️

@IMSEOG In real life, there are only 2 types of syllable: open and closed. Open ends with a vowel nucleus, & closed has a consonant coda, regardless of spelling.

Bay, toe, high, wee, and you are all open syllables.

Bake, toke, hike, week and uke are all closed.
