@EcciusMaximus@ChristandGuitar But what he taught was not correct. So how does one know what a “ church father” said or wrote is true if they teach clearly false things as well as true things?
@MrCasey62 This is saying that they spent their time, energy, and effort to produce something that they use to offer to false gods. Catholics spend their time, tremendous effort , money, etc to push Marian doctrine.
@DustinAshWrites@piratecapt16 You said the Hebrews kept God in a box as you tried to prove Mary was the ark or box that Jesus was kept in. You were wrong, God was not inside the Ark. Your explanation starts off with a fallacy.
@_George_Bell_@beetle67a@MrCasey62 Yes. Laying on of hands was used to impart spiritual gifts and to commission people for a specific ministry such as we see with Timothy. So how does this prove apostolic succession?
@MrCasey62 The humble person says Jesus is holy, I should try to be holier, as He wishes me to be. 1 Peter 1: 15-16, Ephesians 5:1-2, 1John 2:6, 1John 3:3, Romans 8:29. Verses that say to be holier than Mary: ZERO.
@LandonLeBoeuf2@CatholicRambo@MrCasey62@amkfaith No. I’m saying the Catholic Church took those words and created their own meanings for them to support false doctrine. No etymological fallacy, just fact.
@_George_Bell_@beetle67a@MrCasey62 Yes, you are correct. They were called apostles as ones sent or commissioned for a ministry. Barnabas sent via the Holy Spirit. They are not the same as the 12 Apostles( Paul made one by Jesus Christ himself), they did not have that unique role. Still had no bearing on succession
@LandonLeBoeuf2@CatholicRambo@MrCasey62@amkfaith The Greek word dulia meant slavery, bondage , servitude. Roman’s 1:1, Rom 8:15, Matt 6:24 -examples. The Catholic Church changed the meaning to create veneration of saints. They changed the meaning of a word to fit their false doctrine.
@_George_Bell_@beetle67a@MrCasey62 He was with them from Jesus’ baptism to his ascension. That was the qualifications. Nobody can fulfill that now. Men were to take their teachings to others- doesn’t imply apostolic succession. That’s Catholic tradition.
@DillonTerr63128@MrCasey62@amkfaith@LizzieMarbach You can’t answer a question or support your own statement. That’s ok. I knew you couldn’t. You’re embarrassed now. You’re trying to cover it over. Do your homework. Have a good one.
