Mobilising Christians to restore the lives of marginalised children.
Serving children affected by disability, HIV, witch accusations & living on the streets.
The people of Goma (DRC), including Rev Jean-Paul Aruna and the LVLE team, are living through a period of serious civil unrest. Give thanks that the LVLE team have been kept safe, and pray for their ongoing protection.

Goma has widespread poverty and deprivation. So we’re excited to partner with LVLE, to resource them to take this work to the next level. LVLE specialises in equipping local churches and schools to create environments where children can thrive. #DRCongo

APRECOM’s champions are an essential source of support. These church leaders are deeply involved in mobilising churches to reach disabled children. The APRECOM team is immensely gifted but its work is so much wider and deeper because of the churches in its network.
Inshuti Nziza clubs are safe places for children. Kids can be themselves, have fun and find support in living life with #HIV. What's more, the leaders equip children to avoid and report abuse against them. In Bukora, abuse against group members has fallen by 75% since June.
Through our partners' training and advice, communities in DR Congo and Rwanda are benefitting from improved harvests, in areas where malnutrition is becoming all too common.

Food scarcity is becoming an ever-greater issue throughout the majority world. We've created our resource 'Let's Grow!' in response to this issue. The resource equips communities to make the most of food sources available to them and to safeguard their children's nutrition.
There is a severe shortage of anti-epilepsy medication in #Rwanda and #Zambia. This shortage affects many of the children our local partners serve. Please pray with us that children who need anti-epilepsy meds will receive them, and that supply chain problems will be resolved.
As part of our efforts to make Transformation Resources easy to understand and access, we've now made our web platform available in French, as well as English.
Notre site internet des ressources est disponible en francais ainsi que en anglais!

On #WorldAIDSDay we give thanks for the huge progress in reducing new infections and AIDS deaths over the last decade, and pray for the day when AIDS will be a thing of the past. #praying
Through the training, the participants have grasped that mental difficulties and witchcraft are not linked, and are committed to sharing this understanding in their churches and communities. Attitudes are changing and this will also bring change in how children are treated.
LVLE has just delivered a training event in Sake for 40 pastors and school leaders, addressing the myth that mental illness and disability are linked to witchcraft. This matters as the idea that mental problems are caused by witchcraft underlies numerous cases of child abuse. 1/
For example, one delegate at the training reported the case of an eleven year-old girl with a mental disability, fostered by her mother’s cousin, who was physically abused and thrown out of the house, because she was seen as a witch. 2/
We hope you find some great #BlackFriday deals today, but please remember BCT on #GivingTuesday. Our project partners rely on the generosity of our supporters in order to make a difference to marginalised children.

It's World Children's Day! Today, let’s ask God to breathe his life and power into every BCT partner project as the teams work unstintingly to help children realise their full potential. Let's pray that every child will know God's love and provision.

They also gain vocational skills and - perhaps most importantly - they gain a renewed sense of hope and purpose.
The Troop members in Bugesera are even learning agricultural skills, so that they can help their communities safeguard their food supplies.

The Inshuti Nziza Troop brings together young people affected by HIV. Many of them are from broken families and struggle with drink or drugs. But through being part of the Troop, they learn to better manage their HIV condition. #Rwanda 1/
Stepping into the unknown is scary. But when God calls us, we can trust him to lead. Here are some of my thoughts from a personal perspective, as my last blog post for BCT *sniff*.
Grace and peace

There are many different ways you can pray for us, depending on the time you have available and how you prefer us to communicate with you. Find out more on our website: https://t.co/sVcang69yA
How do you pray for BCT?
'The short "SOS" email requests often form the basis of my prayer time for BCT. These give me something brief and specific to focus on. The longer prayer diary is very informative and a great resource.' John, BCT prayer partner
