#Jainism in Bengal & #Purulia#Purulia was not a tribal land but one upon a time it was the centre stage of Jainism in Bengal with It’s rich culture and heritage.
@surya_ardeshir@vajrayudha11 Nope, local chieftain were all included in the making of these temples. This is just was one of the examples. The main point was to point the Jains presence here since ancient times. There are other temples in Bengal which are ancient and are related to the Bengali Jains.
@IAMPMSM@Genionomist I am just trying my best to spread some information regarding Bengali Jains wherever I can, sir. So that people can atleast have some idea/knowledge regarding them as well, that these people also exist. I am only trying to control the controllable.
@surya_ardeshir@vajrayudha11 Mahaveer did faced hardships but during early part of his journey. But he has traversed Purulia, Bankura, Birbhum, Paschim Bardhaman districts, even Sainthiya. Birbhum and Bardhaman are both named after him. Here are some images from historical Jain sites from Purulia district.
@surya_ardeshir@vajrayudha11 Sarak community are Bengali Jains whether they are miniscule or not, it doesn't matter. They exist. One of the most revered monk of Jainism was from Bengal.
@sreejit_d If Bengali denotes Buddhist as well then what about Jains? I mean Jainism has an older history than Buddhism in Bengal and there are Bengali Jains who are still present & live in Bengal.
@atlas47 You can find them largely in Purulia, Bankura, Murshidabad, Burdwan, & some in Kolkata, Howrah as well. Burdwan was named after Jain's 24th Tirthankar Mahaveer whose another name was Vardhaman.
@Shubham31336189@Aagan86 So? Was he was the only culprit? Still stuck with him just because he is a Jain. Called him first traitor of India which was also a lie. Ignored every person of other religion who were also involved in this conspiracy which included Hindu, Sikh & Muslims as well.
@Shubham31336189@Aagan86 If is the question here. So you are indirectly also saying thay if someone commits terrorism and if that person follow Islam so then that person is a Muslim terrorist, instead of just terrorist?
@Shubham31336189@Aagan86 Omichand was the biggest culprit in this 1757 conspiracy. There were others involved too but you lot are making Jagat Seth the only culprit. But he was not even the biggest culprit in it.
@Shubham31336189@Aagan86 There are many people of different religion who conspired with the British. Omichund was the principle architect of 1757 conspiracy.
@Shubham31336189@Aagan86 First traitor of India? King Ambhi of Taxila is considered as the first traitor of India. Read some history. It's not as simple as you make out. It's far more complex.
