This is bollocks and you know it.

Nobody is being handed £125,000 for a Ferrari. That number is forgone tax under salary sacrifice the driver gives up their own gross salary to lease the car and then pays Benefit-in-Kind on it (4% this year). It's the same tax mechanism as pensions and cycle-to-work. The car is paid for by the driver and their employer, not the taxpayer. Calling a tax relief a "purchase" is just dishonest.

And the scheme is open to nurses too NHS trusts run EV salary sacrifice. So "plumbers and nurses paying for the rich" is backwards: they can use the same relief.

Now if you actually want to talk about money leaving the public purse:

Starbucks paid ZERO UK corporation tax in 2024 and banked a £13.7m tax credit after sending around £40m in "royalty fees" to an overseas group company that conveniently wiped out its UK profit. Legal. Deliberate.

Amazon paid no UK corporation tax at all in 2021 and 2022, won't disclose what it pays now, and is estimated to have avoided roughly £575m in corporation tax in 2024 alone.

That's the real transfer of wealth billions in UK profit routed offshore so ordinary taxpayers cover the gap. Funny how that never gets a single capital-letter tweet.

A 4% tax rate on a company car gets "NET ZERO MUST BE SCRAPPED." Multinationals booking zero corporation tax on hundreds of millions in UK profit get silence. That's not principle it's selective outrage.
