In 2021, the @nytimes did a rare thing. Published analysis of economic outcomes under Dem vs Republican presidents, by David Leonhardt. This was the headline
Republicans have never EARNED — via actual outcomes — the branding that they're better at managing budgets or the economy
In 2025, Republicans allowed health care premiums to double for millions of Americans. Those higher prices start later this week.
They’re not working for you.
Donald Trump's wealth has nearly TRIPLED since he became president, driven largely by crypto ventures fueled by foreign governments.
We need a president who works to improve life for the millions who can’t afford food, housing or health care, not one who enriches himself.
The median family income in the U.S. has gone from $10,000 in 1970 to $106,000 today, an increase of 10x.
However, the median cost of a house has gone from $25,000 to $445,000, an increase of 17x.
And the median cost of a car has gone from $3,600 to $50,000, an increase of 14x.
The median cost of college has gone from $2,900 a year to $45,000, an increase of 16x.
And the average cost of healthcare per person has gone from $350 to $14,600, an increase of 42x.
Why am I not surprised @elonmusk by your comment? Apparently you know NOTHING about Lillian Bonsignore. She is a 31-year FDNY veteran who led EMS Operations during the COVID pandemic, overseeing more than 4,300 EMS providers responding to 1.5 million calls per year.
The FDNY encompasses two main branches to include Fire Operations and Emergency Medical Services. She is part of the FDNY.
The Commissioner presides over both branches. So choosing someone from one branch over the other is irrelevant. If someone was an experienced firefighter they would have no experience with emergency medical services. So what makes one more important than the other? They both are critical services provided to protect NYC.
I believe your problem is has nothing to do with anything except the fact that she is a lesbian. Why would that matter if she has extensive experience and background with the FDNY?
So get over it. It’s a done deal and nothing you can do!
My hospital bill went from $3,000 to $700 all because I asked for an itemized receipt and list of everything I was being charged for, and they lowered my bill by 77%.
Our health care system is a SCAM.
“I’m the largest individual tax payer in history. I pay over $10 billion in tax.”
- Elon Musk
Well that’s great Elon, but what percentage of your earnings was it that you paid?
If he’s worth 700 billion and paid 10 billion, that’s only 1.43%.
This is the fucking problem with bloodsucking billionaire vampires. They think because the tax they pay is a big number, that they don’t have to pay 15%-40% like the majority of the world. The rich can avoid tax legally.
Billionaires shouldn’t have to pay more tax than we do, they should pay the same percentage…… they should pay what’s fair.
