SCIENCE IS AMAZING!
Before my brother began his chemo, he banked his semen in case he found it difficult to conceive after the procedure.
In his final weeks, we discussed & initiated an IVF process. When he passed, the family decided to proceed with it.
Behold my first son.
The Nigerian stock market was on fire between 2005 and 2008, following Soludo's bank recapitalizations. Margin loans became common in 2008. As the global market crashed, the Nigerian stock market boomed. Transcorp IPO was the thing - you were either in or out, and the emotions are eerily similar to what is currently going on.
The Nigerian stock market crashed in 2009. AMCON was born. The market did not recover for over half a decade. I was right there when everything happened.
Enjoy the ride while it lasts.
This is a BIG DEAL ‼️‼️‼️
Imagine the Nigerian economy is a car.
For a while, the CBN had its foot firmly on the brake.
High interest rates discourage borrowing. Less borrowing can reduce demand, which can help bring inflation down.
Now, the CBN is releasing the brake somewhat.
MPR has gone from 26.5% to 23% that is a 350 basis-point cut.
What could this mean?
1. Credit could become cheaper.
Lower rates can make it more attractive for businesses and individuals to borrow, invest and expand by supporting economic activity.
2. Savings returns could come down.
If you’ve been getting returns of 20% or more on some fixed-income products, don’t be surprised if those yields eventually fall.
And when risk-free/low-risk returns fall, investors may start looking more closely at equities, businesses and other productive assets.
3. Capital could start flowing differently.
People have been asking for lower interest rates for a LONG time.
For context, 23% is roughly back to where Nigeria’s MPR was in February 2024.
But the CBN hasn’t completely taken its foot off the brake.
The CRR is still 45% for deposit money banks.
Very simply, if a bank has ₦100 of qualifying deposits, ₦45 has to be kept as reserves, before considering other liquidity and regulatory requirements.
So this isn’t just about interest rates.
It is about the flow of capital through the Nigerian economy.
The price of capital is changing.
And that could have implications for businesses, banks, investors, consumers and the broader economy.
What do you think?
This JW partial reversal on blood transfusions is a reminder of why church and personal doctrine should never be placed above the Bible. People have died.
Tell anyone in Nigeria that you won’t be buying the Dangote refinery shares and they’d look at you with so much disgust like you don’t know what you’re doing with your life.

Most of west African countries will transition to a single currency called ECO June 2027.
Nigeria is leading the charge this time.
Beyond improving cross border trade, the adoption of ECO currency takes Nigeria’s GDP to around $750 billion.
The CBN has also been preparing for this inevitable change.
A lot of monetary policies have been delayed for this eventual change/ shift.
CBN is also tightening loose ends to make terrorism financing with ECO more difficult.
Is it just me or the amount of lewd accounts by Nigerian babes on social media has quadrupled

🚨 Roy Keane on the controversial incidents involving Gabriel and Martínez:
🗣️ “We all saw it, and somehow the referee decided to overlook it.
“Honestly, if I was making the decision, I would have given the referee the goalkeeper's gloves and told him to go and stand in the goal himself. Maybe then he would understand what it feels like.
Arsenal need to be careful because it is far too early in the season for these kinds of incidents.
Look at the challenge from Gabriel. He isn't even looking at the ball properly, yet Martínez's head is right there after the goalkeeper has already got possession.
For me, that has to be looked at properly.
And then you have the second incident from the corner. Martínez makes the save and is pushed back towards and into the goal area, surrounded by Arsenal players.
The referee is right there. No whistle. No card. Nothing.
That is what frustrates me. Last season, people complained about Arsenal's set-piece tactics and the way they crowded goalkeepers, but too often we just sat in the studio and talked about it.
Well, this season, the officials have to be consistent.
There are new rules and clearer guidance around corner-kick situations, but that means nothing if they aren't applied.
Arsenal are a very good side, but they cannot be allowed to play by a different set of rules from everybody else.
🎙️Wayne Rooney on Arsenal:
“How Arsenal keep getting away with these silly tackles honestly baffles me. What Gabriel did to Martinez today was completely unnecessary. No VAR check, no card nothing. There’s no way Gabriel should have still been on that pitch. For me, that’s a clear red card.
Arsenal have developed this habit of bullying players on the pitch. This isn’t the first time, they know exactly what they’re doing, and it’s becoming part of their identity. They constantly push the limits, leave something on opponents and somehow escape punishment.
If VAR is there and still refuses to intervene in situations like this, then what exactly is the point of having it?
The Premier League needs to start taking this seriously. You cannot keep allowing the same team to get away with these incidents week after week.
Arsenal might call it ‘passion’ or ‘intensity’, but sometimes it’s simply dirty football and they’ve been getting away with it for far too long.” #ARSCHE
🎙️ Jamie Carragher on Gabriel’s challenge on Martinez:
Clear red card for me. Gabriel had no business making that challenge on Martinez. It was reckless, completely unnecessary and could’ve caused serious injury.
I’m baffled that VAR didn’t even intervene. Arsenal keep getting away with these kinds of challenges, and the officials need to start drawing the line.
