It has been less than a month since reclamation was completed for an airport the island didn’t even need
Currently:
- The Harbour is black and full of dead fish
- The island’s famous Sikundi Kulhi mangrove is dying
Everyday 1000s of scam calls originate from the prisons and these people find a phone conveniently from the cell of 2 journalists. Can't seem to find phones or stop scam calls coming from the prison though. 🤷🏽♂️
Just the usual Bermuda Triangle type shit we deal with in Mordis.
How is BML supporting small businesses? How am I supposed to provide services when our main invoice generating, clinical documentation and diary management software is inaccessible? 2/3
I run a small paediatric clinic with occupational therapists and speech pathologists. @bankofmaldives has decided that the national limit has reached & now I can't renew my subscription to my practice management software. 1/3
@MetroUK No Maldives diving instructor with them.
6 Italian divers in the team and 5 divers went into the cave and none of them surfaced
One Maldivian military diver died later in the rescue mission , making 6 deaths in this cage dive case.
In Dec 2024 🇯🇵 gifted to 🇲🇻 @MoDmv@MNDF_Official Coast Guard, maritime communication systems, professional diving gear, and search-and-rescue equipment, such as portable recompression chambers, for advanced operational needs. Hope it was useful in the recent operations
My hope and prayers are with the Finnish team, together with @33Rifshan Mohamed Rifshan and everyone involved in the recovery efforts, are able to finally bring some closure to the families affected by this tragedy. Insha Allah
Now get some rest or sleep that is enough clout chasing for the past two days. It is not going to help anyone at this moment.
The friends and families of the fallen divers, including their fellow teammates, are mourning. The very least one can do is show compassion. This is not about any one individual; it is about families who have lost their loved ones.
It is deeply frustrating that more than 50 years after the Maldives opened its doors to tourism, the country still lacks a properly equipped and professionally trained underwater search and rescue capability.
in moments like these, our opinions and commentary need to take a backseat.
the least we could do is to hold space for their immense sacrifice, respect the pain of the families, and keep our unsolicited professional opinions to ourselves.
إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعونَ
Respect to the brave divers taking part in the complicated and risky search and recovery operation at Vaavu Atoll.
May Allah bless the soul of the MNDF diver who died during the operation. May Allah provide strength to his family and love ones during this difficult time.
Please speak with compassion about those carrying out these operations. They are not expendable they are human beings risking their lives so others may find closure.
Lesson from Surah Kahf: A rejection, a loss, a delay isn't always a deprivation, it is indeed Allah’s divine help to protect you, give you better and reward you. Alhamdulillah.
