@MarinaHyde Sure FIFA got played? The play was that anybody bought their assurances in the first place. Probably was the plan all along… like IOC they could have asked for more concrete commitments BEFORE the games started but choose not to.
@hofrench listening to your lecture on Born in Blackness. riveting! wondering if you already had the hypothesis - that Africa/Africans more central than conventional history suggests before you started the work or did it reveal itself as a by product of some other work(s)?
@CitImmCanada helllo. applied for pr renewal feb 2021. did address change by updating on website repeatedly since may 2021 but new address will not update in our profile! status says pr card posted in july. we have post redirected. have used your web form in july. still no joy..?
@lucawiget@carter499@IsiahWhitlockJr@battletested5 the difference is in Sweden when you get it you have paid sick leave, for you and your contacts, free accessible health care at point of delivery and good housing means everybody can distance appropriately. if you do that in the US the bodies will pile up outside the er!
@Ardet_ut_vivat @orisafigueroa10 @MaaloufMD @MichelleObama@JoeBiden Your points are good. The “greatest democracy” is actually a fallacy - judges voted in by one party, popular vote still can loose, no power sharing options - could go on. But today, right now it is what it is. Now, not voting is the same as voting republicans. its your move...
@RitikaGoelTO@ShreeParadkar dr adebola obanyan wrote a letter on racism he experienced training in canada and posted it to the royal college - we were invited to share our experiences. it has been taken down for review.
@chrisgloverCBC @marksaunderstps @CBCNews@CBCToronto he should get up and DO something! see @samswey for suggestions! Trudeau, governments, police etc dont get to kneel now. they blew their chance ages ago. kneeling isn’t an option for those leading the institutions perpetuating the brutality/racism #BlackLivesMatter
@TanisFowler@ShreeParadkar sad that when in mental health crisis it is the police we have to call. not paramedics or crisis team... given that these crises will be mostly BIPoC, armed cops storming in to “help” likely aggravates. also why i think embedded mobile crisis workers shouldn’t dress like cops..
@ShreeParadkar@Joyhenderson78 this tells you white people know that while for them they get a fair shake with cops, for ethnic minorities it is life threatening. when she says “i will call the cops” i think this is what she insinuates, ie not i will call the cops cos you are doing a bad thing taking a video
@lizrenzetti You would need to compare apples with apples. gernany is ahead of canada on the curve, testing more widely, has more capacity in hospitals and has a decentralised/regional response capability. up until recently tests can take 10 days to come back in some cases here in canada
@profamirattaran Hi Prof. New zealand has a case positive rate of about 1%. So there are controls that can keep rate under 10% ? As to ending the epidemic, are you saying that without herd immunity it will not be possible?
@ONThealth@healthcityon bus drivers, teachers, etc continue to work (some from home) & have all been paid. Ontario chooses NOT to pay drs for the last 2 months for work done, but lets give you a loan instead . Bet the ministers are getting full pay for working from home though?#Dotherightthing
Some doctors will not be paid until June, and that can have long-term implications | Ottawa Citizen @CTV_AvisFavaro #DoTheRightThing https://t.co/U5nt7I6xVq
