One of the primary reason's I was excited to have a brick house is that I don't have to paint it, or maintain the paint, at least on the siding. the peeling paint on my soffits however 😭

I despise menial chores and general tedium because I feel like life is too short. Definitely would be happier working 20 hours per week than cleaning, doing yard work, taking out the trash, getting groceries, etc.

@ErnieBrownII @YIMBYLAND Our proposed updated city code is emphasizing this by using sketches of the same structure next to possible floor plans of 1-6 units inside the structure.
There are limits on building size but # units (up to 6) isn't one.
T-12 days until the city council votes to adopt 🤞

@richandregular I also learned that donating cash to the food bank can allow the food bank to purchase items at wholesale prices as well as foods/goods that they know fill the gaps at their location or pay for refrigeration for storage or transportation.

@richandregular I think about this every time I read these updates because I know I have a 401k, a 403b, 2 IRA and 2 Roth IRA accounts.
I don't doubt that many Americans are woefully underprepared for retirement but for sure 401k account balances are not an accurate measure.
