@realDaveReilly@MLJHaynes Last week the SSPX didn’t consecrate new bishops without the apostolic mandate. This week they did. Do you see how that works?
Pope Leo XIII created the prayer after having a mystical vision. We have first hand accounts of people who witnessed it and the Chuch recited them after every low mass (at minimum) for 80 years.
If it is jarring to you, or you think its content is bad, some self reflection may be in order.
This movie kinda proves the point though right? You can do a movie that is thematically true even if it's not precisely historically accurate. The reason modern movies are bad isn't because they choose thematic amalgamations they're bad because the themes they choose are modern slop not deep human expression.
It’s not supposed to be a history textbook. It’s an amalgamation of the human condition of a civilization. The inhumanity, the structural collapse, the hierarchy, and ultimately the futility of the struggle. It’s thematic. The dates and periods can be overlapped the civilizations can be blended and it can remain true.
On behalf of the Christians of the #MiddleEast, and of all women and men of good will, I appeal to those responsible for this conflict: cease fire! May paths of dialogue be reopened! Violence can never lead to the justice, stability and peace for which the peoples are waiting.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation restores our unity with God through the forgiveness of sins and the infusion of sanctifying grace. This generates the inner unity of the person and unity with the Church. It fosters peace and unity within the human family. One might ask: do those Christians who bear serious responsibility in armed conflicts have the humility and courage to make a serious examination of conscience and to go to confession?
