🎄 Merry Christmas from all of us at Christian Brothers Conference! Thank you for allowing us to serve you in our shared Lasallian educational mission. Live Jesus in our hearts ... Forever!
Happy All Saints' Day! Today we remember all the holy Lasallian saints who have come before us. Let us be inspired to follow in their footsteps with faith, charity and zeal. 🙏
@jdflynn@aunt_eener@canonlawyered@CUACanonLaw@FranciscanU Can you speak more to this, @jdflynn? I'm a civil lawyer who started a masters in theology work the hopes of studying canon law. And I've heard lots of people saying this, but having reached out to all the English faculties, I haven't seen anywhere that it's been practiced.
Today is the feast of the first Native American saint, St. Kateri Tekakwitha, who was baptized by Jesuit missionaries. She is the patron of ecology and Native Americans.
St. John Baptist de La Salle asked his teachers, "Are you ready to give your life, so dear to you, for the young people entrusted to you?"
Brother James was.

In a few hours, the Eucharistic Pilgrimage will stop here at the grave of Blessed Brother James Miller, FSC, Martyr. But for now, I have some time alone for prayer with Brother James, and to think about the heroic life he lived.
"I am personally weary of violence, but I continue to feel a strong commitment to the suffering poor," he wrote in his final letter. "I pray to God for the grace and strength to serve Him... I place my life in His Providence; I place my trust in Him."
Today @Lasallian_RELAN launched https://t.co/QOR5M8QpzV. This site is intended to share more information about the life and impact of Brother James, and his cause, particularly as the Eucharistic Revival Pilgimage prepares to visit his grave in Wisonsin in June.
Today is a very important day for Lasallians: the Feast of Blessed Br. James Miller, FSC, martyred on this day in 1983. Br. James was a teacher, missionary, football coach, and handyman, with an an infectious laugh, huge smile, great sense of humor, and love for children.
@timothypomalley In 2014, I went to see Willie Nelson because I'd always wanted to and I told my wife "he's 81, how much longer could he be touring?" Turns out, at least 10 more years.
"You should aspire only for heaven, and constantly raise your heart and mind tither. You are made only for heaven; you should labor only for heaven; you will find perfect rest only in heaven."
- St. John Baptist de La Salle, Meditation for the Feast of the Ascension
In 1938, @lasalleorg absorbed a smaller, but separate, institute of religious Brothers from Normandy. They had a devotion to Our Lady of the Star, which was incorporated into the Lasallian calendar.

Yesterday, 11 Lions and 11 Cardinals from Loughlin and La Salle gathered at Thomas Berry Place in Queens, NY for a Discernment Retreat. In the spirit of "One La Salle," they listened to and engaged in discussion about who God is calling them to be.
Was happy to lead a reflection today on the legacy of St John Baptist de LaSalle at @ManhattanEdu during mission week - we had the chance to venerate a relic of our founder. John Baptist de LaSalle pray for us!
