unfortunately the concept that debt interest has to be paid & that paying it takes money out of public services is not one that most voters are aware of or place responsibility for on the governing party - " govt doesn't give us enough money" "tax the rich" drown out the reality - live prudently & the rewards will come ( & then be taxed if you are an individual)

i am not sure what your post is meant to convey, i would say that a lot of Reform supporters & councillors are ordinary ppl stepping forward for the first time so yes they may be trusting even naive but for a serious broadcaster to do what has been outlined is genuinely dishonest & they should answer for how they operated in this instance for full transparency! @ZiaYusufUK

You are saying something my Dad said years ago & i suspect it is totally true. Danger from serious consequences is really quite low. the case for a flat tax on all income ( inc asset transfer ) at 12% with no exemptions or allowance becomes stronger - yes everyone would have to do a tax return but how simple is list every gift & income then 12%. The more the treasury dabble the more complex & illogical it becomes & worse still they hit the Art Laffer reality buffer making all their scheming pointless
