@DocStrangelove2 @USPirates Yeah for every attempt at selling these things for public safety there’s a case of baffling abuse and fraud involved with flock.
Really it’s been half a year and these things have been proven to do more harm than good far too often.

@beinlibertarian You can see the shift where asking for social programs from Europe went from “that’s socialism” too “that wouldn’t exist without capitalism”.
They need youth votes. So now they are trying to sell the idea they can offer similar benefits themselves.

@ABC7Chicago You could argue this is both the right and wrong thing to do.
If you believe states should have control over their elections/laws this was the right choice.
If you believe that as part of a whole a states voting should have a federal oversight component you would be right in that

You do those three things which is unfortunately “legal” to do, the public is given a “estimated” amount of votes to now expect to come in.
As these harvest schemes are cleared out you can see a pattern of who’s been using this method and what percentage of votes they now lost.

Not saying it’s shady but this is what the right means mostly when they say voter fraud.
-The state mass registers anyone/everyone.
-Groups go in and mass ballot harvesting through NGO’s or other networks.
-Some ballots are simply just filled out for a person.

Republicans in PA just picked up over 30,000 net voters in ONE WEEK after the state purged tens of thousands of shady Dem registrations, many of them out of Philly.

The Democrats’ statewide voter registration edge just got cut in HALF in one day.

being able to call police to use them as hitman should be nothing less than attempted murder.
The fact police can just go in on a random tip will the ability to kill should also be looked into.
Finally doxxing with harmful attempt needs to be treated seriously.

This should be seen as a legitimate crime. Making this and doxxing have more heavy consequences would do more for online safety than most bills being presented at the moment.
When I run for IL state rep again I’ll make it a point/bill to demand these things are taken seriously.

A Rust player from Arizona is seeking $176 million after a swatting incident left him paralyzed from the chest down.

He says hackers accused him of cheating, stole his personal information, demanded money, and threatened to send police to his home with a fake emergency call. According to the player, he warned local police that it could happen.

Less than two days later, officers responded to a fake report of a shooting at his house.
They found him holding a legally owned handgun and opened fire, leaving him permanently paralyzed.

@FrankCalabrese It’s kinda strange how Pritzker polls so low. I didn’t expect him to ever break top 3.
He’s done about everything you would expect for a Dem candidate to do and has less baggage than a few on this list.
To not be in the top 5 for all he’s done is itself an achievement.

@cafreiman They believe a corporation can become tyrannical like it’s cyberpunk because they can’t fathom a world that separates corporations and governments.
They see how the gov and corporations are supporting each other and maintaining monopoly’s and belive it can never be fixed.

@CameronCorduroy I also believe the independence and LARPing crowds are the biggest reason Puerto Rican statehood isn’t taken seriously.
Imagine trying to go through all the hurdles of making statehood work with two groups of crazies trying to mess it up at the same time.

@IAPolls2022 Has the Democratic Party given any of their own reasons for this funding problem? We have all basically seen the Republicans side about it being because USAID was shut down. We also had a few more conspiracy style theories but I’ve yet to see a Democrat response for this.

@DoDeportations This happened a few times years ago when other prominent accounts attempted to catalog faulty race crime information.
Counties would hide mugshots or start putting n/a for racial descriptors.
If it didn’t matter why go so far to hide or put the wrong race in the first place.

@GBPolitcs @migrationCtrl The lengths which governments have attempted to hide,manipulate,misrepresent,fabricate,etc when it comes to the last 25+ years of immigration and racial data at large should be telling.
If things were as great as they claim govs across the world wouldn’t need to do this.

@ElectionWiz This has to be one of my favorite things about gov following laws.
We can have laws/procedures on the books but then you find out that the gov just stopped enforcing/using them for over 15 years.
The gov then has the nerve to ask how it got this bad like it’s a shock.

@ArthurMacwaters Her having an army of supporters is probably the worse part. Winning a big case is great. The clear gloating about saving a monster from her and the supports is wild.
The supporters going as far as wishing suffering on others and America for calling them out is crazy.

@Heminator The “socialism” everyone wants is programs that actually benefit people, work as intended, have no fraud/abuse in it, isn’t kneecapped but inept a government.
People see others have a program that seems to run smoothly somewhere and will latch to any idea that shows results.

@Heminator With the time and money need to build a permanent infrastructure to cater to more than even 12+ languages means that our immigration policy had to have nearly 15+ years of failure.
If it was just tourists you wouldn’t need a significant system like this in place or widespread.
