These nine countries are rightly demanding: Not another cent of EU tax money for the IOC as long as it brings Russia and Belarus back into sports.
The IOC has lost all neutrality. No more 💰
Germany—where do you stand?
Merz, showing weakness again?
🚩 "Doesn't it tell you something, that every time it has been tried, revolutionary socialism has ended, not just in poverty but in gulags and torture chambers and firing squads?"
@DanielJHannan challenges the "real socialism has never been tried" defence.
You didn't need to be Sherlock Holmes to suspect from what was publicly known that there was much more to Ann Widdecombe's killing than randomness or misfortune. One can only conclude that politically-motivated news management of Ann's death was the priority of police chiefs. And that is as disgraceful as it is, I'm sad to say, completely unsurprising.
You are a disgrace, IOC, and a corrupted organization.
By doing this, you are whitewashing the crimes against humanity and the crime of genocide perpetrated by russia.
I hope that you're will be soon held accountable before a court.
The Pro-Trump acolytes who like to pretend that they are pro-Ukraine--this is your moment of no return. Condemn Trump for starving Ukraine of Patriots or admit to everyone that you support an American president working with Putin.
And please stop pretending you back Ukraine.
Poland's newly declassified military aid numbers expose a sharp drop in support.
The official data shows Poland has provided 3.83 billion euros in total military aid since 2022.
However, the vast majority of this was sent early on between 2022 and 2023. Between 2024 and 2026, that support plummeted to a pathetic 360 million euros, meaning they have sent almost nothing recently.
We must be grateful for that massive early help when the war was existential to Poland, but it proves the country acts strictly out of self-interest. The Poles truly stepped up when they felt directly threatened, but essentially stopped once they realized Ukraine would survive.
This also explains why Zelensky refuses to bow to President Karol Nawrocki. Ukraine hasn’t depended on Polish military aid for years. Poland would maybe have more influence over Ukraine if it still provided serious military aid.
The recent stupid dispute over historical grievances is totally useless and should have been postponed until after the war. It would not even be happening if Nawrocki were not in power.
Russia used its proxies to support Nawrocki in the election, and he has paid them back by endorsing Viktor Orbán and attacking Kyiv. This behavior is a betrayal of Polish interests and supports Russian goals against Poland and its allies.
Ukraine is fighting for Poland and making life safer for Poles, making these current fights incredibly foolish
Gavin Newsom goes off on the Trump Family corruption:
Newsom: And I’m not talking about the $100,000 watches. I’m not talking about the guitars that he’s selling that you didn’t even know about, or the Bibles, or the sneakers. I’m not talking about all that.
I’m talking about what’s happening substantively with these kids and these investments, and the Pentagon contracts they’re receiving on rare earth minerals and drone companies, and all the stuff that’s happening with the Kushner family, the Witkoff family, the “Board of Peace,” which is about getting a piece of the Middle East.
Let’s talk about the UAE and high-value chips, where they’re getting a piece of our national security, where the Biden administration held off. But as long as you can get a deal done with the UAE on the private family businesses, then all of a sudden national security becomes less of an important talking point.
Or how about the tariff relief in places like Vietnam for the golf courses and the development deals, and the dozen other countries that he’s doing business in? How about all the corruption as it relates to the self-dealing with his resorts and all of his assets that the Secret Service and taxpayers are subsidizing? Or directing G7 investments? Or the emoluments issues across the spectrum every day? Or just the day trading literally behind the Oval Office desk, or showing up on your calendar at a company that you just invested in because you know that stock’s going to pop because you’re going to promote it the next day?
All of this happening—this open sewage system. You talk about draining the swamp. He gave it a presidential suite with gold leaf.
And you’re seeing this gross corruption at a scale and scope never before seen in modern American history. This is stuff I don’t even imagine exists at this scale in a year and a half, even in Putin’s Russia or Kim Jong-un’s North Korea.
We need to put an end to the false narrative that Russia is "retaliating" when it hits Ukrainian civilians.
Russia is the unprovoked, genocidal aggressor that started this war, and Ukraine is the only side fighting back and executing real retaliation.
Calling a Russian missile strike on a Ukrainian apartment block a retaliation is a grotesque distortion of facts. Russia lied for months to cover up its plans before executing a completely unprovoked invasion.
The numbers tell the real story of who is targeting whom. While Ukraine has 2.5 to 3 times fewer total casualties than Russia, Ukraine has dozens of times more civilian casualties.
Russia opened this dark chapter by targeting civilian infrastructure first. Ukraine is retaliating to survive, while Russia is simply continuing its deliberate campaign to destroy the Ukrainian population
I've decided to leave this platform and my Department will too.
A platform originally designed for free speech and expression now favours abuse and misinformation over meaningful debate.
It isn't healthy for our democracy or our communities and I don’t want to support it.
Words of condemnation alone will not stop attacks on Kyiv. Only sustained military support for Ukraine and increased pressure on Moscow can do that.
This week, the EU has started disbursing €6 billion under the €90 billion support loan to strengthen Kyiv’s defences.
Today, I will propose to sanction more entities supporting Russia’s military-industrial complex in response to the strikes. The more Moscow attacks civilians, the more sanctions must be imposed.
We keep raising the cost until Russia understands it cannot win.
EU staff in Kyiv are accounted for. I am deeply grateful to our colleagues on the ground, who continue their work with courage and dedication under the most difficult circumstances.
russia is continuing its policy of death ag/ Ukraine, targeting solely civilians.
While Kyiv, in accordance with intl law, strikes only military and energy infrastructure, Moscow has only one goal: to exterminate.
When will we, as Europeans, take action?
