Delhi Bus Gang Rape: Arrested After 27 Days Or Was Kept Hidden for 27 Days?

A 16-year-old gang-raped on a sleeper bus on August 4. Arrests announced on August 31.

Question 1: Were accused arrested after 27 days? If yes, what was Delhi Police doing for 27 days?

Question 2: Were accused arrested earlier but disclosed after 27 days? If yes, who ordered that silence and why?

Both questions are damning. Both demand answers.

The bus allegedly sat in a Timarpur parking lot for nearly a month. Police were spotted there only on 31st August. No forensic team. No seizure. No accountability.

That raises serious questions:

1. If police already seized the bus: why was it sitting openly in a public parking lot for 27 days? Who was guarding it? Was the chain of evidence even maintained?

2. If police had NOT seized the bus: then for 27 days, a key crime scene was completely unprotected. Anyone could have cleaned it. Tampered with it. Destroyed evidence.

Either way, Delhi Police has no clean answer.

A bus where an alleged gang rape of a minor occurred should have been seized within hours... not weeks. Forensic teams should have swept it immediately.

The longer that bus sat there, the more evidence likely disappeared.

This is either gross negligence... or something worse.

The Dalit girl from a village in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, had passed 10th grade. She wanted to take up commerce in 11th grade, but the government school where she studied did not have a commerce stream.

She thought of going to another school. When she went to the other school, the principal there humiliated her.

She was told, "Your character is bad; that's why you've come here." Her character was assassinated in front of her mother; she was humiliated based on caste.

In this agony, she came home and took her own life, and in this way, another promising girl child was silenced by Dronacharya.
