@FFXIV_Butterfly Bro, at least at some point you can frost nova and nuke them down, or at least run away! Imagine being a warrior, where every fight is a 1v1 war of attrition and if a second mob shows up to the party you're done, lol.
Or you're sitting down eating from the last fight.
Gotta say though, this is DEFINITELY not like riding a bike. I don't remember how I did some things or even where all the files are!
But I do know the next step I was working on: piecing together the textures properly so my version renders properly in game and not just in Blender
Work has been swamped the last few weeks, and I haven't been able to work on my Feo Ul mod. Looks like in the meantime @FFXIV_Butterfly beat me to the punch and made their own. Which is awsome tbh, they make most of my favourite mods.
Will still do mine though, for learning
I'm not a fan of this new yassify DLSS, and I think people will complain a lot at first...
But tweaked just right I think GPosers will get addicted to it
To combat the neck seam I'm re-baking the normal map. It seems like voodoo and I'm not actually certain it does what I think it does.
Also a bit concerned about the clearly uneven normals under her jawline in the new one. Likely will need more work.
We shall see!
Learnin about Normals today. Adding more edge loops to facilitate facial animations has lead to some bad normals, like around her lower lip here. But with some effort, it can be fixed!
Well it took all night but I found the problem, and it's not the skeleton. "Blend" animations like the Expression emotes are handled differently than normal animations, so if you want them to work on a different skeleton, you HAVE to rework them. So fine. Fixed!
More skeleton bullshit. All the bones are in the right place, but they move strangely, sometimes on a completely wrong axis. Very frustrating! The eyes are still wrong, it's just harder to notice now.
Push comes to shove, the bones work fine when posed manually, but that sucks
The mouth is the main issue here. These are supposed to be the same emote, Grin, first with the default skeleton and second with mine. Everything works fine EXCEPT the upper corner lip bones are moving on the wrong axis for no reason whatsoever. What the actual fuck.

This is a combination in alphabetical order of every Expression emote I could successfully export from the game. Eyelids don't move as far as they should since the expressions weren't made for her big eyes, but thats ok, this mod is meant for gpose, not animation.

After work today I finished rigging Feo Ul's eyelashes, and the transparent mesh that holds the "eyelash shadow"
Eyelids/lashes have 4-5 bones affecting each vertex at times, which was originally really daunting, but I've found a decent workflow.
