@DynoDangle I’d say between barz, horvat, kyrou, Ritchie, eklund, and holmstrom/heineman you have a pretty good top 6, which we’ve missed for a while
Maybe the first plus Nelson does it. I’d be willing to throw in another 2nd
Then all you gotta figure it out is defense.
@datadomNY@philzfactz How about
Eklund - Horvat - Palmieri
Ritchie - Barzal - Schenn
Shabanov - Pageau- Holmstrom
Lee - Engvall - Heineman
Im pretty sure Engvall played center in Toronto. Looks like an interesting group
@NDRedEagle This turned out, heineman as a middle 6er, and two middle firsts that both look great. Unfortunately that cap space went to drouin… and the cap space for this upcoming year we spent on schenn and palat. Whatever. Schaef rules
@NDRedEagle The slam dunk is, trade Dobson for a high first, and hopefully a trusted middle 6er, and use his money to get Ehlers. Or trade pageau along with Dobson and get Marner, but that’s a long shot.
And then next year that cap will keep rising. Give me another UFA and we’ll look great
@islanders_takes@IslesDen@TuckonSports For CHI to accept they’d have to move on to a win-soonish window, so they’d probably have to get a big free agent and get Gavin McKenna or stenburg.
I’d do it in a second though
@DynoDangle I’d usually agree, but with the unserious team we have now I don’t mind fucking around to find out. I’m not great with player development, if the idea is it might hurt Cole in the long term then keep him down.
@DynoDangle Ive got a dumb hypothetical based off my biggest disagreement with you.
Lets say we make the 3rd round, game 7
Lets say Eiserman went pro, and they call him up in a every few games role, hes been ok
Noting our scoring issues. Do you play him on L1? Or Palat.
@DynoDangle Who wouldn’t love a ~8 min TOI 4th line of Eiserman-Schenn-Shabanov. Might even show off some more of Schenns skill + add some of his defensive mindedness. Roy wouldn’t do it, but we’re obviously not a real cup contender so why not try something.
@islanders_takes Crazy take, I thought it was pretty original, and it hooked me, the acting wasn’t crazy or anything but there was no time for them to really try to show off. Id give it a 8.5-9
@DynoDangle I wish GMs went the nuclear option like this more often, it keeps you out of the mushy middle.
It realistically wouldnt cost THAT much for
Barzal-Horvat-Kyrou
Laine-Thomas-Heineman
Lee+page for 2 1sts
Romanov+2 firsts+aitch for Thomas
2 firsts+nelson for kyrou
2nd for laine
@DynoDangle Speaking of, what do you think about our window? We get another 4 prime years or so out of Horvat/Barzal/P&P/Sorokin, and we also have Schaefer on his ELC now.
I worry by the time Eiserman/eklund/aitch are all cooking well have lost too much value through contracts and time.
