@VincentContice2 Cynicism certainly isn't a good quality. I seem to have this psychological cycle between cynicism and optimism. Working more is to combat the negativities. And venting cynicism on Twitter is another thing. I guess this is what I bring back

When I was checking at a hotel in Tokyo, there was this American guy, arrogantly asking receptionist for sushi restaurant recommendation. He went "is this the name of the restaurant? Can I also get Thai food here? How about steak?"

Since the starting of my job, there have been several occasions I thought I might have signed up for too many things. But everytime, I was able to accomplish all, without the need to work crazy hours. This makes me more confident.

I asked my PD advisor to help connect with a few PIs that we want to meet. Within half hour, he forwarded all the responses to me. This means he emailed these PIs. All of them replied. Then he forwarded to me. All within 30min. Yes, I do miss working in this pace.
