Interesting... Incentives for people to help elders navigate this process.
Makes me think of @TianshuUSC's work on "bring a friend" incentives in blood donation in China https://t.co/SnVieCarvm
🚨🚨 I am very excited that our paper (with Ilya Morozov, Xiaojing Dong, Liwen Hou) is now forthcoming at Marketing Science (https://t.co/BF5KZV2sh7).
We tried to backtrack when we started working on this project and ended up remembering a conversation at ... 1/7
Good question by @seanjtaylor. Reminds me of a series of work by DellaVigna and Pope such as JPE paper
‘Predicting Experimental Results: Who Knows What?’ and ‘Forecasting the Results of Experiments: Piloting an Elicitation Strategy’ and ‘Stability of Experimental Results’
I got an interesting question today: Say before each A/B test you run, you ask your team to estimate the outcome. You collect a year's worth of data and find a handful of people are very good at forecasting which tests will perform well.
What do you do with this information?
It’s been fun to present at @nberpubs Summer Institute today. Thanks to the organizers, the audience and our discussant @avicgoldfarb! Lots of great comments. The paper is here: https://t.co/U5yLGBu7T7
Great discussion here, including many folks (I think correctly) warning against creating goals for model performance, instead focusing on business goals.
Anyone have interesting advice for mapping model metrics into business metrics? (Besides the standard cost of FP/FN stuff)
🎉A new WP & talk announcement!

Really cool work by Feng Zhu and coauthors that shows that women researchers' productivity was disproportionately negative during COVID-19 while men's productivity went up. These effects are even stronger at top institutions
