Please, please stop using tricks in mathematics before students conceptually understand what is going on. For example, you teach the butterfly method, then learners want to use it to add and subtract fractions. NOOOOO

Yesterday was my last day as a Clinton resident. I’ve learned so much over the 6 years, and I’m leaving with so many great memories! Thank you for everything, Clinton!
Today was my last day at Clinton High School! Such a weird mix of excitement and sadness. Again, many thanks to all of you in Clinton for the memories! I'll come back and visit soon!
"Mathematics is about making up rules and seeing what happens. And it takes great creativity to come up with good rules." @vihartvihart This is the reason why I love studying math! So many people have the wrong idea about what it's all about!
“Being good at math is not about being right the first time, it’s about having the resilience to carefully look back and understand the mistakes, and understand how to fix them.” @3Blue1Brown https://t.co/3PREWgVqEV
I was recently asked to explain what being a Clinton Cardinal means to me for CARD TV, and it reminded me of this Tweet that I posted a while back. Still true to this day! 😄 https://t.co/GF1MQE5bm8
The Cardinal Family stands with the Clinton Police Department in the tragic loss of an officer as well as the injury of several others.
Counselors and school social workers will be available to students today.

@wishilikedmaths@tes One of the primary reasons that people dislike mathematics is because they've been given a fake version which is formulaic & lifeless. Real mathematics is imaginative & vibrant!
Just want to thank Ms. Bailey and the entire cast and crew of "A Christmas Carol" at CHS! You guys are beyond talented, and I'm very lucky to have had the opportunity to share the stage with you! It was a blast!!
