@BrianLeddin @Nonie_no71 @elisaodonovan @FintanYTWalsh @greenparty_ie Hi Brian as a resident on this road right next to the bridge I'm all for the plans. Shannon fields cannot be developed as it is swamp land. The canal and lower park area need continued access to our https://t.co/gdk592POEY will bring nรณ extra traffic to the area.
@bamacgabhann This is actually an Irish band. I was there for a regatta last weekend and they were also playing on Monday morning. Fabulous city. Totally rebuilt so the shopping centre is in the city centre and they also have 80000 students living in the city. Waterfront is amazing
@ConorSheehan93 Thanks for raising the issue Conor. I'm seething that the person who authorised this did not put an alternative in place in the city before closing it. They had plenty of notice according to their report and just thought we the people who use it wouldn't care.
@Gilleeece @LkCycleDesign @LyricFeature Emma this is not an extra road. It is replacing a bridge and making the road safer for cyclists and pedestrians as well as cars. The road and bridge are already there servicing the local community.
@LkCycleDesign @patrickmercie@bamacgabhann@MacL0ve@LyricFeature Big difference cycling to ul on the bank in the winter. Ive lived in Holland and you also have a great public transport system to use when it rains.
@patrickmercie@bamacgabhann @LkCycleDesign @MacL0ve@LyricFeature We live in Ireland. If you gave everyone a free bike we still couldn't use it all the time because of the weather. Short of putting a roof over limerick we are going to need cars to get around where there is no public transport. I wish it wasn't the case.
@joepiece @BrianLeddin @LkCycleDesign @elisaodonovan 9 departures a day limerick to Galway train. Here is the time table. That's 18 closures to the railway gates.
@joepiece @BrianLeddin @LkCycleDesign @elisaodonovan Joe I'm not sure where you live but 18 trains pass here every day. Trains are shunted to ennis morning and evening along with the passenger service

@LyricFeature @LkCycleDesign Currently we have a two way traffic system where cars and pedestrians and cyclists can go about there business with no problem. If as you suggest this is made into a cycle path then the people who live on the canal bank and lower park will be denied access to their homes.
