My boy said he wanted to be like his “Big Daddy B” for Career Day! “I’m gonna fly on airplanes allover & call sports with Uncle Spence & Donny Marshall.” 🤣🥰 I have no doubt that he can & will do whatever he sets his mind to! @SpencerBCrews@SpenceTillman@TimBrando@FOXSports
My friend and yet another memorable golfing buddy Jack Carlisle died today. If you’re not from Louisiana you may have never met him, but had you? You would never have forgotten him. “Cadillac Jack” was what we’d call down south a “Hi falutin’ Southern Lawyer” that controlled every courtroom he ever worked in! Considered by many historians in
My hometown the best trial lawyer the city had ever seen in the 70’s & 80’s. Shortly after moving home and building our new home in south Shreveport in 1990 , I was re-introduced so to speak to Jack by his law partner Frank Walker who lived not far from us. Together they lit up The Men’s Grill (at that time we had one)@southerntraceLA collectively owned the room just as Jack did the courtrooms around town. Jack’s personality was larger than life, and his stories went back as far as my Dad’s generation which spawned even more from me. Like many previous golfing buddy’s that were neighbors of mine, Jack & I shared a ton of time together. He lost his dearest friend Frank in a tragic car accident and almost didn’t recover. Mentally he was exhausted and lost off the grid would be the term. However with a lotta help from his lovely wife @MikeyCarlisle and many close friends he rebounded and the old Cadillac Jack returned. Fighting thru much mental anguish, and other health issues he could really swing the golf club, and could he spin some yarn about the grand old days of our hometown. He and his BIG personality on the course and off will forever be missed. He left us for the Lord today at 12:37pm. Fittingly I was on the golf course @CaneBreakCC in Hattiesburg with my son in law @JMSullyMD when I got the news. May God welcome and comfort him, for a life well lived that’s gonna be remembered by all those that ever knew him. RIP Cadillac Jack. 🙏💜
He was a “one of a kind” owner, television pioneer and mogul, International Sports Champion @americascup as well as Global News creator with the creation of @CNN. Imagine if Birmingham or New Orleans had a Ted Turner? Maybe someone that had similar goals as his was from your city. I’d argue that while Atlanta is the Gateway City to the South it was Turner’s presence that made it a 5 ⭐️ Southern City. He’s truly one of one🙏
Thankfully, our old friend Pollack gets what so many others especially the tradition rich blue bloods can’t stand hearing. Access is valuable. Expansion=Additional Revenue streams, and repairing the calendar means more eyeballs 👀 on our games. 2 week layoffs kills CFB momentum and the @NFL seizes upon it. It’s time CFB Leaders at all levels recognize it and repair it!
24 TEAMS?? We Debate Tim Brando on CFP Expansion https://t.co/SQOoBLxU7G via @YouTube This conversation was way back in February and frankly little has changed except the subject became hotter once the recent power brokers indicated they’re siding with the @bigten position.
"He basically jump started my career at Tulsa. We'd be nowhere without @TimBrando." 😂
Donny Marshall spoke with @KUHoops HC Bill Self after the Jayhawks' win against Utah in Allen Fieldhouse.
Just saw this and gotta say my friend @finebaum really stepped in it with this. It may go unnoticed on Disney owned outlets, but it shouldn’t before today’s meetings on expansion and CFB’s erratic calendar. @IndianaFootball should
they win Monday night, “A cute story” he said flippantly to @MattBarrie. Look 👀 Paul’s at least keeps CFB (albeit mostly @SEC 🏈at the forefront on his @espn appearances. Good for him. I completely agree with Finebaum that regardless of who wins, but the Hoosiers in particular will not make the “A Block” on news gathering programs and embrace debate shows after Tuesday morning, but who’s fault is that? It’s clear to me! It’s the @CFBPlayoff and those that decided to wink & nod and not even entertain bids from anyone other than the Worldwide Leader. They established a deal that was guaranteed to lose for the Exclusive Rights Holder! Paul routinely blasts @bigten Commissioner Tony Petitti, and does so for being a problem for expansion moving forward, and on this he’s way off base, and enhances the spiraling image of a collective bias in media when it comes to our sport. Paul serves at the pleasure of @SEC Commissioner @GregSankey who among us doesn’t know that? He’s all about “At Large Bids only” and 16 teams is his limit. Why not…? this year he got 5 of 12 teams, and he wanted 7! There’s no doubt in my mind that Petitti while serving the BIG first, does with his idea for 24 teams in 3 years, is more about creating more inventory that actually enhances Nationwide interest, and makes the regular season MORE, not less relevant. Oh yeah, and while that may get more than @espn involved what’s wrong with that? The @NFL model from a TV perspective is the way to go, and they’re the Gold Standard, plus beginning post season play 2 weeks earlier gets us done at or closer to January 1st. This way Paul Indiana or Vandy(if you prefer)is more than a “cute little story” 😂😂🤦♂️
