The journey with Wakilni began when they enrolled in the USAID-supported Environmental, Social, and Governance Stewardship Program (ESGSP), earning the Certification of Commitment.
Together, we are working to help businesses in war-affected areas recover, rebuild, and secure livelihoods.
The partnership will:
- Help 100 businesses recover and rebuild.
- Generate new sales opportunities.
- Sustain or create jobs and strengthen local economies.

In a country plagued by persistent electricity shortages, Samar Akar, a mother of three, transformed her co-owned solar water heating business into a leading player in Lebanon’s solar photovoltaic sector.
Together, Samar and Nadeen are not only addressing Lebanon’s energy crisis but also combating brain drain by creating opportunities at home. Their story, supported by USAID, showcases the power of resilience, family, and calculated leadership.

Celebrating Success: Energy Audit Program Closing Event The Michel Daher Social Foundation(MDSF), in partnership with USAID Lebanon, celebrated the successful conclusion of the Energy Audit Program.
USAID Lebanon Acting Mission Director Nicholas Vivio highlighted the program’s significant impact, noting that it provided affordable and renewable backup electricity to support businesses, sustained jobs, and implemented world-class energy management practices.
