🚨 Stolen Firearm Recovered During Early Morning Contact 🚨
Yesterday, around 1:17 AM, a midnight shift officer was conducting patrol checks near the 1250-Block of Great Mall Drive and contacted two individuals sitting in a vehicle who were unfamiliar with the area. During the investigation, officers determined the male occupant, a 23-year-old Sacramento resident, was on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) for a prior violent offense.
A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of a stolen Glock 19 that had been reported stolen to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, along with two loaded magazines.
The 23-year-old male and a 20-year-old Elk Grove resident were both arrested and booked into jail on firearm-related charges and possession of stolen property.
The recovery of this stolen firearm helped remove a dangerous weapon from our streets and prevented it from potentially being used in future criminal activity. Great work by our midnight officers for their vigilance and commitment to keeping our community safe. 👏🚔
