@JLegacySports@sirguapaveIIi@okcamars As a Laker fan, this is how we sounded in 04 about Detroit. This NY team is deep. I’ll take OKC, but not with high confidence. Also as a sport romantic, the Knicks are way passed due lol
@coachmwillis86@TheCaseForkobe1@deion_ali2@ScottKacsmar Shaq benefited more with Kobe than anyone’s he’s played with. Watch how many times he got easy buckets or 1 on 1 coverage bc of Kobe’s ability to penetrate and score from anywhere, accompanied by his IQ.
@poloerrwhere@BraidedCarter11 Kobe averaged 36-7-7 against the Spurs this year. In fact, he was better than Shaq against the Spurs specifically in every series from 01 to 04. He had 45-10-3 game 1, and 28-7-6 in game 2. Also what kinda dumbass comment is that. Take either guy away and they’re not beating SAS
@spmancuso It’s not nonsense. Definitely a spike since analytics took over the game. It makes sense when you consider both teams are going to attempt 40-50 3s. Very good chance of one shooting a much better %
The amount of blowouts in the playoffs are absurd, and it’s solely due to analytics. When both teams shoot 40-50 3s, there’s a good chance one team is gna shoot a high % while the other struggles.
For those who like posting Shaqs finals numbers to belittle Kobe’s legacy, here are his number in 02 vs Spurs. A real opponent with real bigs. Kobe often outperformed Shaq in the west. #kobe#shaq#lakers#nba#lebron#jordan
@jasonrmcintyre Winning w/ different teams is easier. Not harder. LBJ didn’t leave to Miami and back to CLE for a challenge, he left bc it ran its course and got stale. You calculate where you go based on who can be signed with you. It’s fresh. It’s exciting. Awful argument.
@Jacobtheclipper@HanaHoops EXACTLY! No one asks “why didn’t Jordan keep playing?” They just assume he couldn’t. As if he couldn’t have come back in 99 and joined a contender, avg 25+ and won #7. But he had absolutely no reason to. He only wanted to come back if it meant playing in Chicago
@theblockspot Story of his entire career. Wins… it’s all him. Loses… it wasn’t his fault. Fact is he went 0-6 from 3 and kept chucking it. Youre open for a reason. The same reason the spurs left him open all series in 07.
@AlwaysSFG@getit4@BGNHoops Guys in the 90s played well into the 2000s. Guys in the 2000s played well into the 2010s & so on. You guys are way off with what you think the 90s was / wasn’t, and that’s what’s wrong with the NBA today. The game is soft, boring and a 3 point fest with nothing but space & fouls
@ZekeDaFreak21@AlwaysSFG@BGNHoops Prob with NBA rn is its fans thinking every era before this was trash just bc today’s guys are slightly more “nice with it”. How many guys have we seen start their career in one era and do just fine almost 2 decades later? Today’s spacing makes the game much easier offensively
@AlwaysSFG@405pokefan@BGNHoops MJ led Bulls in assts & boards all time. Pip wasnt even an all star in 91. Bron joined a big 3 Heat to beat a Celtics team in their late 30s. Look up the age of the Pistons when MJ swept them. Also Brons teams were lopsided in the East in terms of talent to beat Derozan & Lowry?
@theblockspot 0-7 from 3 is the problem. 3 years in a row he gets tired bc he’s old asf and chucks 3s. His age has become a liability. It’s an excuse when he doesn’t play wel and a major credit when he does.
@theblockspot Sumn to think about. Y would MJ have felt the need to keep playing? What was he chasing? U don’t think in 99 he couldnt have joined the pacers or Knicks and avg 25 and won another chip? Had all the accolades & was the goat. Not like he didn’t avg 20 at 40 after 2 knee surgeries
@Sparkeyy4 @SamuelSimonis@theblockspot Brons not sweeping anyone. Idk what you’re watching. And why would MJ have felt the need to cont playing? What was he chasing? You don’t think in 99 he couldn’t have joined the pacers or Knicks and averaged 25 and won another title? He had all the accolades and was the goat.
@theblockspot@DarrenSchaefer7 Longevity is his only debate, yet he’s never dominated one era like MJ. Hes in year 23 and has 4 sep teammates to average 25 or more and is still chasing ring 5. It’s also easier to switch up bc the new franchise is energized around you and you leave where it gets stale.
