Wow, a lot has happened since I was last active on here. Manchester City has won the treble, Messi claimed his eighth Balon D'or and £100m has become the asking price for a Premier League midfielder. Interesting year to say the least.
Don’t know on goalkeeper (whoever has overperformed xG the most), Trippier, Stones, Saliba, Shaw, Rodri, De Bruyne, Bruno G, Haaland, Kane and Mitrovic/Almiron.
Laporte, Rodri and Walker were City’s three best players that half. Great stuff from the trio, with Laporte’s distribution into that left-channel a particular highlight. Chelsea on the other hand, are embarrassingly bad going forward.
Crazy to still think this midfield three is still actually underrated. Never spoken about with the likes of Xavi, Iniesta and Busquets when they’re in the same bracket, in my opinion. Five champions leagues is just ridiculous 🏆
I now think Manchester City will win it, especially if they beat Chelsea tomorrow. They should beat that Arsenal team, who struggled to break down a solid Newcastle defence. Defend solidly and double up on the high 8s combined with the wingers and Arsenal look stuck.
Manchester City don’t, and haven’t lost a title race, but this looks a tough one now. Wouldn’t be shocked at any result if I’m honest but if I had to edge a way at the moment I’d give it Arsenal. However that could change each week.

Saka is becoming ridiculously overrated. Jamal Musiala, Phil Foden, Erling Haaland, Jude Bellingham, Pedri and Vinicius Junior are all leagues ahead of Bukayo, and that’s just from the top of my head. Good player, not near the level of Haaland etc.
Is Saka the best under-23s player in the world? 💬

Those are the ones that there isn’t even an argument about. Then the likes of Kvara, Enzo Fernandez, Leao, Rodrygo, Davies, Gavi, Rice, Tchouaméni, all come into the picture. Complete delusion to think he’s the best, when he’s arguably not top 10. 👍
Rico Lewis getting the Pep seal of approval says everything you need to know. He’s been excellent against both Liverpool and Chelsea, can’t see anything changing tonight.
Personally agree with this. Genuinely a wonderful tournament on the pitch with few boring games, the experience for all the supporters in Qatar looked top-notch too. #Qatar2022

Haven’t watched much of Gakpo, but honestly I’m not as on the deal as others. Don’t get me wrong, it’ll probably work out well, as most forwards would under Klopp, but think that money could have been better spent in midfield or at right-back.
