1998年，沙皇尼古拉二世（Nicholas II）被处决八十多年后，俄罗斯总统鲍里斯·叶利钦（Boris Yeltsin）亲自为其主持葬礼的真实影像。虽然他力排众议，千里迢迢的从莫斯科飞到圣彼得堡（Saint Petersburg）出席仪式，但是面对几十位罗曼诺夫王朝（House of Romanov）的遗老遗少，场面还是显得有些尴尬。
1918年7月17日晚，尼古拉二世和他的家人在叶卡捷琳堡（Yekaterinburg）的地下室里被集体处决，尸体被硫酸溶解、焚烧后秘密埋葬。由于苏联政府的刻意隐瞒，在这之后的六十多年里，他们最后的安息之地也就成了一个未解之谜。
1979年5月30日，苏联内务部的电影制片人格里利·里亚伯夫（Geliy Ryabov）和当地的地质学家亚历山大·阿富多宁（Alexander Avdonin）经过多年走访和调查，终于在叶卡捷琳堡以北二十公里处的峡谷中发现了沙皇一家的埋葬地。但由于当时的政治气候并不利于透露此类消息，所以两人只拍了几张照片，然后就保持了沉默。直到叶利钦上台，才对外公开了信息，沙皇一家的遗骨因此才得以重见天日。
现在看到的就是发掘现场的真实影像，考古团队在这里发现了一千多块碎骨和九个残破的头骨，由此可见这些人当时死的十分惨烈。为了确定他们的身份，俄罗斯方面动用了DNA鉴定技术等当时最先进的技术，最终证明了他们确实是沙皇一家的遗骨。
1998年7月17日，根据叶利钦总统的命令，沙皇尼古拉二世夫妇和三个女儿的遗骨被隆重安葬于彼得保罗大教堂（Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral）。出席葬礼的除了二十多个国家的外交使节和罗曼诺夫家族的五十多名成员之外，叶利钦本人也亲自出席了葬礼。
遥想二十一年前，还是斯维尔德洛夫斯克（Sverdlovsk）市委书记的叶利钦亲自下令将尼古拉二世最后的住所夷为平地，以掩盖枪杀末代沙皇的事实。如今却又亲自参加他的葬礼，无异于自打嘴巴。当然他也有自己的打算，解体后的苏联政治局势发生了极大的动荡，面对沸腾的民怨，时任总统的叶利钦急需这张牌来转移社会公众的注意力，同时也代表着他对苏联旧政权的反思和批判。
随着葬礼的结束，末代沙皇的死亡之谜也就此画上了句号。

– Trump asked him NOT to hit Russian DIESEL, REFINERIES, ENERGY FACTORIES, OIL.

– Zelenskyy’s answer on camera: “And of course, we will not.” Ukraine keeps RESPONDING.

– His line: “We don’t want this game… I suggest not to play this game.”

– Rule he just locked in public: Putin attacks Ukraine’s energy → Ukraine hits Russia’s energy back.

– Bottom line he repeated: “We are not weak.” With all the difficulties. Still not weak.

– So Washington wants cheaper diesel. Kyiv wants survival leverage. Those are not the same ask.
