PLAYERS: When your coach doesn't play you, they aren't disrespecting you or hating on you. They are respecting your teammates and loving the team. Good coaches play the players that make up the best team and that are the most trusted team members. Become that kind of teammate.
Remember, coaches DO play favorites. They play those who are tough, skilled, competitive, play hard, are accountable, don’t complain, accept roles & coaching, make no excuses & are capable. Ultimately, coaches play kids who always give the team the best chance to WIN!
If you come off the bench you should have very clear objectives:
Bring energy
Excel at your role
Don’t repeat same mistakes
Take advantage of every opportunity
Don’t disrupt the flow
Set aside ego; play for your team
Be ready on the first play
Observe what’s needed & provide it
🏀 Don't sweat the stats or records! The true measure of greatness is your grind when nobody's looking. 🌟 It's the unseen hours that elevate you from good to great. 🔥 Let's hustle in silence and let success make the noise! 💪🏆 #workhard#greatnessawaits
Kirby Smart said, “The disease that creeps into your program is called entitlement. If you can stomp it out with leadership then you can stay hungry.”
Entitlement is the enemy of hard work.
It means you’re not living with a growth-mindset.
