Kinyoun stain (cold stain- no heating like Ziehl-Neelsen), was developed to stain acid-fast species. The high concentration of phenol in the stain serves to "dissolve" lipid material in the cell wall, allowing penetration of the dye without heating. @KMirza #TwitterHomework
