Did a straw poll on my book tour (13 cities) with 829 folks in 2019:
76% of those who identified as Progressive see "loving enemies" as complicity w/ injustice
78% of those who identified as Conservative see "loving enemies" as compromise w/ immorality
Think we got a problem?
@davidteems On a whim I pulled out your album Soon To Be Released this morning for a listen. Still so good. Favorite track remains "From Out of Nowhere." A classic, and I got to see you and your band in Savannah, in 1988 I think. Blessings to you.
@geoffholsclaw As a #wizards fan, this is hard to stomach. Another year of tanking ahead. Couldn't do worse than the 6th pick...and that's what we got.
My wife bought this book for me as a wedding gift (I'm a big whiskey fan!) and it got left on a plane. I put in a request with @united lost and found and explained it was a gift from my wife for our wedding. So grateful they found it and sent it! Thank you Shelly and @united!
For the #gideon who said my #church members can no longer be Gideons because of the #UMC General Conference reference decisions:
-I wasn't going to let you speak at my church anyways since Gideons don't support women in ministry
So it works out.

As powerful as this week at #UMCGC has been, #Sunday is going to hurt for many #UMC congregations.
Some will never come back to your #church.
Some will be angry.
You will lose members and support.
Prepare yourself. Pray. Know that doing the right thing is never easy.

@CoachD178 Correct me if I’m wrong, @CoachD178 , but didn’t you tell the guys on SiriusXM back at the start of the season to keep an eye on Watts? You knew back then!
@danwhitejr And then another 30 after Jesus was born. Even with his arrival, there was more waiting. We don’t really get that, because we get him born in December and then resurrected in the Spring.
@BrianZahnd@kennethtanner Guys... I have a parishioner who's friend has dealt with some pretty bad tragedy in her life. As you can imagine, she's angry with God. Can either of you recommend a book/author who deals with that, especially the idea that God mourns/weeps with us?
