We found a broad proteome with patterns similar to human milk. This project will be a baseline for future milk projects on more individuals of these species.

@neely615 I currently have several projects with them. There are quite a few researchers at the National Zoo who are interested in proteomics so they keep me busy.
@NorSivaeb I’ve had quite a few reviews where the authors found only a few collagen peptides because they didn’t search for HYP and after review found hundreds. It really doesn’t make sense to exclude it on ECM studies.
@neely615 I found a similar result on a serum project, but I wasn’t able to find any lit supporting this when I started the project. I ended up doing a short internal report to my collaborators that depletion wasn’t the way to go for the project.

We give a short retrospective on the dinosaur peptides, the current state of deep time paleoproteomics (enamel and eggshell), and future directions we see for paleoproteomics. We also give some extensional areas that paleoproteomics could be applied to.
