There is something deeply wrong with a political system that allows one trillionaire to buy his own personal U.S. Senator.

Amazon has 250 million Prime members worldwide. 168 million of them are in the United States. They pay $139/year or $14.99/month for a membership most of them use for one thing: free 2-day shipping.

That's it. Order something. Get it in 2 days. That's the entire Amazon Prime experience for 90% of members.

A consumer savings analyst who's tracked Amazon's pricing infrastructure for 6 years said: "Amazon has a hidden clearance outlet most shoppers have never seen. A warehouse full of open-box products at 30-50% off. A $5/month prescription service covering 50+ medications. A page with hundreds of digital coupons nobody clips. A URL trick that filters any search to show only items 50-70% off. And a program that pays you $10/month just for uploading grocery receipts. Most Prime members use Amazon the way most people use a smartphone 10% of its capability, 100% of its price."

She showed her friend 11 Amazon features. He'd been a Prime member for 7 years. He'd used 1 feature: free shipping.

Here are the 11 things most Amazon shoppers have never found 🧵

If you were young in 2001, or weren’t even born yet, it can be hard to imagine what 9/11 felt like. The shock of that beautiful, cloudless morning. The heartbreak of the families whose loved ones were taken with such swiftness and cruelty. The realization that the forces of malevolence and violence were closer, and the future less certain, than we knew.

But in the days that followed, we felt something else, too. Pride in the rescue workers who had rushed to the scene, and the passengers who had stormed the cockpit. Admiration for the men and women who left behind lives of comfort to serve their country. A deep resolve that nothing would break the will of a truly United States of America.

Today Michelle and I are remembering those we lost that day, and those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the wars that followed. We pray for their families. And we hope Americans everywhere remember the true lesson of 9/11: that we can survive even our darkest days as long as we move forward as one nation and one people.

For my first post, I’m sharing a letter @NVIDIA signed on why open models matter.

AI will transform every industry, power every company, and be built by every country.

Open models strengthen safety and cybersecurity, accelerate innovation and diffusion, and enable sovereignty.

The world needs both frontier closed models and frontier open models.

Trump's embarrassing rant last night about an election he lost six years ago made two things very clear:

1. He's not focused on making life better for Americans. Not even close.

2. We should act now to counteract any efforts to undermine our elections. https://t.co/L63hCChOn6

Redondo Beach lost the New Commune appellate ct case and their Housing Element was invalidated. We promptly filed a Builders Remedy prelim app and the city -remarkably - refuses to process it. We will be filing a lawsuit by the end of this week if the City doesn’t reverse course

It's time for a national billionaires tax and a new social contract.

10% of Americans own two-thirds of the wealth. Wages have stagnated. The cost of living has skyrocketed.

The system is fundamentally broken.

The federal tax code, a corporate code, and an inheritance code were written for a different set of Americans.

It’s time for an economic reset.

I’ve tried to explain this before but I think it probably went over most people’s heads. Let me try again and see if it sticks this time. The only time you really need to be worried is when they STOP doing this on Fridays. Until then, every dip is buyable.
