I had a great time at the AGA Tech Summit in Chicago. If you’re not investing in frontier gastrointestinal solutions in healthcare, you’re missing out! Check out Owl Peak and our push to defeat colon cancer!
Colorectal cancer is now the leading cause of cancer death in younger adults. The Wall Street Journal piece underscores a sobering reality, but it also highlights something important: frontline detection is working. Screening rates are improving, noninvasive tests are expanding access, and clinicians are catching disease earlier than ever before.
The challenge is no longer detection alone. It is fragmentation.
Too often, signals are identified but not fully contextualized across the patient life cycle. Lesions are found, but risk is not always clearly classified. Follow-up varies. Monitoring is inconsistent. Advanced oncology ends up managing cases that might have been stratified earlier with better tools at the point of care.
The opportunity ahead is to strengthen the chain between detection and intervention. That means improving identification, classification, and longitudinal tracking in the GI suite so that care pathways are clearer, earlier, and more appropriate to disease severity.
If we get this right, we not only improve outcomes. We ensure that advanced oncology resources are focused where they are truly needed, while more patients are managed earlier and more effectively.
This is a systems problem and one we at Owl Peak Technologies and others are increasingly capable of solving.
Colorectal cancer is on the rise among young people. Now it is the leading cause of cancer death in the U.S. for those under 50, according to a new analysis. https://t.co/KK8r2l9uF3
