Absolutely superb, dignified, and well thought through comments from RDZ; always liked his passion & he’s clearly learnt a lot from his time at Albion….! UTA💙💙💙💙💙
🚨 Roberto De Zerbi on Brighton’s remarkable start to the season:
“People see Brighton second in the table, scoring more goals than anyone, and they ask, ‘How do they keep doing this? They sell their best players every summer.’
I understand the question. I worked there. I asked it myself sometimes.
When Alexis Mac Allister and Moisés Caicedo left, people outside the club looked at the money and thought Brighton had won the transfer window. But as a coach, you don’t look at the money. You look at your midfield and think, ‘Okay, who is going to play on Saturday?’
I remember conversations with the people at the club. You would ask about a player and they wouldn’t just give you a name. They knew his strengths, his weaknesses, what he needed to improve, how he would fit into the team. Sometimes they had been following him long before anybody was talking about selling the player he might replace.
And that is the difference.
At many clubs, the manager leaves and suddenly everybody wants to start again. New ideas, new players, new recruitment department, new project. Six months later, the manager is gone and they start another project. Brighton don’t do that.
Of course, Graham Potter, myself and Fabian Hurzeler are different coaches. We don’t see every situation in exactly the same way. But Brighton know what kind of football they want. They don’t appoint a manager and then ask the entire club to become something else for him. They find someone who can build on what is already there.
I used to tell people that at Brighton, you are not arriving to build a house on an empty piece of land. The foundations are there. Your job is to make the house better. And when you leave, they don’t knock it down.
Look at them now. They lose players, people predict a difficult season, and then another young player comes into the team and plays like he has been there for five years. You think, ‘Where did they find this one?’ And before you have learned his name, somebody is already discussing how much a bigger club will pay for him.
But the beautiful thing is that Brighton supporters can enjoy these players without feeling that the whole club will disappear when one of them leaves.
You can buy a very good footballer. You can even buy eleven. What is much harder to buy is a club where the scouting, the coaching, the recruitment and the football all make sense together.
Brighton have built that. And I think some much bigger clubs should stop asking which Brighton player they can sign next, and start asking why Brighton keep producing teams they want to take players from.”
Very good analogy, that makes even more crystal clear, if that were necessary or even possible, that Trump is a raving lunatic, & an evil, obnoxious one. His narcissism is pathetic & truly laughable, and his lies on the data of polls, inflation, prices, & blame, continue.
Imagine 1941, when German aircraft were bombing British cities, Europe was under the Nazi boot, and Churchill was desperately trying to save his country from Hitler's onslaught.
And then, at that very moment, US President Franklin Roosevelt suddenly announces that the main problem is not Hitler, who is occupying foreign territories and killing people, but the stubborn British, who simply refuse to agree to a peace deal. Worse still, they keep bombing German industrial facilities, damaging the economy of the Third Reich and creating difficulties for international trade.
The American president is terribly outraged. After all, his voters need cheap fuel, the economy needs stability, and he himself needs good approval ratings. So instead of helping Britain, he calls Hitler, negotiates the supply of German goods, proposes easing economic restrictions, and threatens to cut Churchill off from weapons and intelligence unless he stops destroying German industry.
And to finally persuade the Führer to come to the negotiating table, American mediators even propose returning some of Germany's frozen state assets.
All in the name of peace, naturally.
And, of course, for the sake of the American economy, which should not have to suffer simply because some stubborn British people refuse to surrender.
Now try to imagine what history textbooks would look like if Roosevelt had actually behaved this way.
What if he had called Hitler a wonderful negotiating partner, demanded that Churchill surrender territory, and simultaneously tried to convince Americans that Germany needed to be allowed to make money because otherwise it would refuse to make peace?
What if, instead of Lend-Lease, Britain had received an American ultimatum: stop bombing German factories because we need to lower prices before the elections?
What would we say about such a president today?
Would we call him a brilliant negotiator who was simply protecting his country's economic interests?
Or would we say that, for his own benefit, he was helping the Nazi war machine while simultaneously depriving its intended victims of the means to defend themselves?
Fortunately, history took a different path.
Roosevelt secured the passage of the Lend-Lease Act, and the United States began providing massive assistance to the countries resisting Hitler even before America formally entered World War II.
But today, watching Donald Trump's actions, I increasingly find myself wondering what Europe's fate would have been if a politician with the same attitude toward aggression, human lives, and personal profit had occupied the White House back then.
This is all true, & when it’s expressed as well as this, you realise all too clearly, that Trump acts in his every major statement & move, on behalf of Putin & Russia. 😡
**The masks have fallen.** Trump has been acting in Russia's interests, not America's, ever since he was first elected, but he had to maintain the appearance of doing the opposite.
The infamous confrontation with Zelenskyy at the White House, the refusal to help Ukraine, tariffs on the EU, the war in Iran — all of this has been a game played in Russia's interests from the very beginning. Occasionally, he would see the world's fierce reactions and retreat a little. For quite a long time, he pretended to be a fool to conceal his work for the Kremlin.
Now he understands that he has little time left. He knows that Republicans will lose the November 3 elections and that they may remove him from power. This is precisely why he has intensified his actions in Russia's favor. There is simply no time left to pretend that he is not acting in Russia's interests. That is the real reason, not fuel prices. He must do as much as possible for his handler, Putin, before he loses power.
The January 6, 2021, march on the Capitol, effectively incited by Trump himself, will look like a minor incident compared to what he will unleash when they attempt to remove him from power in 2027.
Americans and world leaders must understand that he is a Russian spy and has been one for a very, very long time. Nobody has ever destabilized the United States, humiliated it on the international stage, or weakened its allies the way Trump has.
Refusing to sell weapons to Ukraine, cutting off intelligence sharing, financially supporting Russia through oil purchases, threatening Ukraine, and lobbying to unfreeze Russian assets — all of this amounts to nothing less than standing shoulder to shoulder with Putin against Ukraine and the world.
If Americans finally come to their senses, we may yet witness the Trump family emigrating to Russia and requesting political asylum!
And Ukraine will stand strong and emerge victorious! 🇺🇦

Billions? You DO know that the USA has a population of “only” about 350 million, don’t you? I hate Trump too, but that’s the sort of numerical illiteracy that HE comes out with….!!! 🤔🫣😬
@HalfwayPost Now, that is the BEST NEWS I've heard in a long time!! High time he learned the truth that BILLIONS of Americans know, and keep posting about! He is the most HATED man in America, and quite possibly, the world.
When he is rejected and betrayed by those once called friends. When allies grow weary, politicians negotiate, and some are already poised to shake the hand of the executioner. When his life and the life of his country are daily targets for rockets, drones, bombs, and lies. I have no idea how this man has endured all this. And continues to endure it.
He does not look like a movie hero. He looks like a man who hasn't slept in years. He has been cast aside. With eyes burning for the homes of Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, and Odesa. With eyes that see all of Ukraine. He asks for no pity. He courageously asks for weapons. He does not flee. He stands his ground and bares his chest. When offered evacuation, he says: "I need ammunition, not a taxi." And this is not just a catchy phrase. It is a choice proven over years. Every day. Every night. Right now.
He has been betrayed and continues to be betrayed. He has been underestimated and continues to be underestimated. He has been insulted and continues to be insulted. He has been put to the test and continues to be put to the test. And he stands tall. In the shadow of ruined cities. With weary soldiers. In the shadow of a world that is also weary—a world that wants to forget this war in Ukraine and think of something that causes no suffering or stress, something pleasant. Yet he reminds everyone. He speaks to people as if holding their hands. And there is something in that which brings a lump to one's throat.
In all my life, I have never admired any public figure more than him. And I think, perhaps, I never will again. Because such admiration is not about politics. It is about a man who, when everything is falling apart, does not ask "Why me?" but—like a knight—does what must be done. I am certain he will stand firm, even if it costs him his life. Even if all his friends leave. Even if the whole world turns its back on him. He will not betray his principles.
The entire world respects him—not because he is perfect, but because he is the strongest of them all, because he has raised the banner of the highest values: human dignity, freedom, and democracy. And all of Ukraine stands with him—weary and wounded, yet unbowed. Perhaps in the future, you will vote for someone else in the presidential election. That is your right. But today, let us respect him. We have a president who deserves respect and of whom we need not be ashamed. May he have strength and patience.
Volodymyr Oleksandrovych deserves kind words and every form of support today. So let us give it to him—it is our duty!

Reporter: Critics of the diesel deal say it could prolong the war in Ukraine…
Trump: Zelenskyy could have settled this war many times and he chose not to. We said you can do whatever you want to Russia, don't hit the refineries. Zelenskyy wants to make problems for the world and our farmers.he better damn well stop.
🥴Zelenskyy could have ended this war many times, but he deliberately chooses not to. His strikes on Russian oil refineries are creating problems for the world, particularly for American farmers. It is time for Ukraine to get a new president.
Donald, if only ONCE - say once a month - you could say what you mean, without having to back-pedal or pathetically attempt to put a new slant on WHAT YOU SAID. You lie constantly, make up figures & data & events (like phone-calls or conversations) that are just wrong or made-up!
I strongly suspect the majority of Sunderland fans are great lads & lasses; just the odd weirdo who’ll constantly try to belittle & insult next match opponents…..
It’s interesting how some of these Geordies are so belittling of Brighton.
Thought they were supposed to be heroic anti-cartel, anti the Big6, anti legacy big club?
Yet guys like this sneer at smaller clubs.
@HarrisonTracey7@Beardlar@AlexRob61317900@Brightonian_ A non entity of a club who for vast majority of its existence has been ignored by residents of the place its supposed to represent. Thats why you have no real history. .
@JoJoFromJerz We definitely know you are 😂This is the same Trump who you branded Hitler, a narcissist, a fascist, and a racist—and he’s delivering for the American people. We’re more than satisfied, because the alternative, Kamala or Biden, would have left us truly 'F.....'
