It was genuinely enjoyable to watch Jillian Michaels’s reaction as she learned for the first time from Victor Davis Hanson that Jesus’ existence is backed by historical information outside of the Bible. 🤯
“If a church is destroyed, everyone’s heart should break.”
Nicki Minaj publicly condemns the Christian persecution happening in Nigeria, urging the United Nations to intervene.
We need more of this. ✝️
“And the Lord’s servant must
❌ not be quarrelsome

✅ able to teach,
✅ patiently enduring evil,
✅ correcting his opponents with gentleness.”

Sinners tend to respond sinfully to being sinned against, that’s why if you’re patient, kind and forgiving, in the face of other’s sin, you know that grace has visited you.
Coalescing a community around an anti-vision never works in the long run.
The initial rush of excitement over finding others to share in your hurts and hatred is fools gold.
But beware- that energy inevitably leads to an implosion of the community. It will never work.
Yes! Teachers are speaking up about the damage that smartphones, laptops, and tablets have done to education. Each of those things is a distraction machine. A book is an attention-enhancing machine.
Who is the first person in history to argue that slavery is morally wrong?
There is no criticism of slavery as an institution in Plato, Aristotle, or Stoicism.
But in the 4th century, a church father named Gregory of Nyssa was the first person in history to argue that slavery is morally wrong.
He argued that you cannot exchange any amount of money for the image of God. What could possibly have equal worth on a person created in the image of God?

The cosmological argument and the fine-tuning argument were persuasive:
"I was impressed by a lecture by philosopher of science and well-known apologist Stephen Meyer, who presented versions of the cosmological argument and the fine-tuning argument. Science says the Big Bang was the beginning of the universe. But whatever had a beginning has to have had an explanation. As this is the beginning of matter itself, it cannot have a material cause; thus it must have an immaterial cause (whatever that might be like).
Similarly, certain features of the universe that are absolutely necessary to explaining how fundamental natural laws operate are physical constants. Physicists tell us that if the values of those constants were different, then various things could not have happened; for example, atoms could not have formed, or stars could not have ignited and given off light and heat. But scientists have never offered an explanation for these constants."

In 1990, the Progressive Policy Institute found that when controlling for marriage and fatherhood, racial disparities in poverty and crime vanish. Kids from married families, regardless of race and income, rarely become criminals. This data was largely overlooked for solutions.
