Mayor Steve Ferguson has proclaimed October 6 - 12, as Fire Prevention Week throughout the County.

Prince Edward County is committed to ensuring the safety and security of all those living in and visiting our community.

The 2024 Fire Prevention Week theme is “Smoke alarms: Make them work for you".

Roughly half of fire deaths happen in homes with either no smoke alarms or no working smoke alarms. Residents are reminded to test smoke alarms at least once a month.
