🎖️ Six Years Strong!
MCS is proud to be recognized as a Purple Star Legacy District, with all 24 schools earning the Purple Star Award for the 2025-2026 school year! 💜⭐
This recognition was celebrated at the Purple Star Award Ceremony held on April 24 at the North Carolina National Guard Joint Force Headquarters in Raleigh. Earning Legacy District status reflects six consecutive years of sustained excellence in supporting military-connected students and families.
We are honored to be one of only six districts in North Carolina to earn this Legacy District distinction. From supporting smooth transitions to providing strong, student-centered resources, our schools work every day to ensure our military-connected students feel welcomed, supported, and valued.
Thank you to our military families for your service and sacrifice. It is an honor to serve you and your children.

🎉 CTE Career Fair at the Fair Barn! 🌟
Approximately 550 students engaged with representatives from more than 100 businesses, colleges, and military organizations from across Moore County and beyond. This event provided students with direct access to industry professionals, postsecondary partners, and service members, helping them explore career pathways and build meaningful connections for their future.
A special thank you to our CTE Department for organizing this outstanding experience and ensuring our students are equipped with the knowledge and opportunities needed to succeed in a competitive workforce. 🚀
Did you know? This year, Moore County Schools students increased the number of industry-recognized credentials earned from 4,646 to 4,751, setting a new district record. Our district also achieved the highest credential attainment rate in the Sandhills region at 79.2 percent.
Thank you to every business, college, military partner, and staff member who helped make this day possible. Together, we are preparing students to be career-ready and future-focused.

We are incredibly proud of Julia Golden, a 2024 graduate of Connect Academy, who made her national debut on The Voice Monday night. 🎤
Julia took the stage during the Blind Auditions and delivered a stunning performance of Strawberry Wine, showcasing her remarkable vocal talent and stage presence. Her performance earned two chair turns from John Legend and Kelly Clarkson, an exciting moment that highlights just how powerful her audition was. 💪
As a former virtual student at Connect Academy, Julia exemplifies how dedication and perseverance can turn goals into reality. Her journey reflects the power of opportunity, flexibility, and commitment, and we could not be more excited to see her representing our community on a national stage. 🌟
Congratulations, Julia! 👏 We are cheering you on every step of the way as you continue competing.

💛 Happy School Bus Driver Appreciation Week! 🚌
This week, we celebrate the dedicated bus drivers and monitors who safely transport our students each day, often before sunrise and long after the final bell rings. Their care, consistency, and commitment make a difference for students and families across our district.
We also recognize that being short on bus drivers impacts many families. That reality makes us especially thankful for the incredible drivers and monitors who show up every day to support our schools. 💙
💬 Want to share your appreciation?
