Well, I've never had a deck this cracked in one of these events. Mill the opponent out? Draw your whole deck? Copy all the spells? Infinite loop 6/6 lorecasters? None of the games were close to being close. This is a good one @lsv and @fireshoes
@ChrisTheDaneLa1 Same - I think this format may even have a higher amount of very bad pools because of all the two-color specific uncommons - if you don't open the fixing to use them you can be pretty stuck playing a mid-tier 2 color deck
@MrChecklistcard I was in this event too. Is it too much to ask to pull some potioner's troves? Even one would have made your UR deck great imo. My pool felt almost unplayable bc of no fixing and lots of unsynergistic 2-color uncommons
@lsv@fireshoes Had a terrible open, 0 troves with almost an unplayable pool, and got completely destroyed by 2 double trove, multiple mythic decks. Not the best time to run bad sadly =(
Got there with a bit of a brew, just barely. Beat out an All is One/Moment of Reckoning deck with a traumatic critique for 10 to just barely squeak out the final win. So, cheers for tomorrow @lsv and @fireshoes
Hat trick for three boxes in a row! I just wanted to do my dailies, but I had enough in the tank for one more try and coasted to box #4 overall with Abzan planeswalkers. We'll open one box with the kids and send the rest to new homes on FB marketplace, @fireshoes
I decided to hit the Direct hard this weekend. I fired 17 bullets and won 3 boxes + over 100 packs, the last 2 wins were back to back. It's a format where one card can blow you out, so either going above everyone else or below them seems like the best way to win. @fireshoes
My first time drafting the BF/LED/Breach deck (it's easier with a real lotus ^^) and got the god-hand turn 0 win. Thanks @lsv for all your content, it's a new frontier for me but winning before your opp takes a game action feels pretty sweet
@jakeformayor The only problem is that MH3 cards are so complicated that it's a bit hard for my kids to even use the cards. Japanese Phlage? Japanese Nadu? Japanese Sorin Markov flip card? How can anyone remember what these all do, let alone my poor 10-year old with his janky decks, haha
@lsv Happy Easter! I suppose if one aspect of this is how many "non-games" the system produces, would you consider the Arena Bo1 hand smoother to be an improvement? Or maybe it's bad bc it's less representative of OG magic?
@Sierkovitz I don't think you did anything wrong! I just have low confidence that they will manage things properly, and I'm used to seeing the tooltip tell me that I'm Qed. When they turned it on for me, the tooltip did show correctly, so maybe next time harass them until it shows there
Speedrun on first bullet to win possibly the first box of anyone (1hr18 min after the start)! I made huge mistakes because I don't play this format, but still managed to get there. Cheers @lsv and @fireshoes
@jakeformayor I stole two copies of Untamed Wilds from Legends from a sell binder in my local store when I was a little kid (I think I was 12), because I didn't have $8 to buy them. I still think about it. Sorry, TCG Collectibles in Fayetteville, I shouldn't have stolen the cards. =(
@BenS_MTG I played this deck and gave you the loss, but then immediately ran into a Tristan's Command Maralyn deck that cleaned me out. =( This format is a real gamble
@ddale8 I work with Congolese refugees whose families are being affected by the fighting South Kivu. Just in the last two weeks the fighting has intensified significantly, with use of drones that they hadn't seen before. Things are definitely worse than they have been.
@BenS_MTG From my experience, the number alone isn't enough to tell whether you're going to be safe. If you've played a ton and your number doesn't move much when you win or lose, then it's sticky and you'll be fine. But if you only just got there, it may yet move a lot. Worth monitoring
