@draltoady@corncob277@TBLightning Yeah I'm sure Lindy Ruff would rather lose Dahlin for the whole season because of "stability" rather than him missing just a few games flying to be with his fiance
@draltoady@corncob277@TBLightning "Relatively unbothered by injuries"... Sabres were top 5 in man-games lost. Including 2 of their top centers Kulich and Norris missing over 100 games combined
@more_one_timers@Lakron09@domluszczyszyn I mean, everyone would agree Colorado was an objectively better team than Vegas this year and they literally got swept. Hockey is a sport where the better team doesn't always win. Also, Buffalo certainly wasn't significantly better than Montreal this year. Both good but not elite
@Sabremetrix We've seen that story enough times that I can't help but *feel* the same way. Having said that, FD has Bills tied for 2nd best SB odds (only Rams higher). In about a month there will be 27 Stanley Cup odds posted and my guess is Sabres will open as more like 8th or 9th best odds
@ByTimGraham@TheAthletic@PierreVLeBrun@ArponBasu@MatthewFairburn All those quotes from Darcy, Miller, Briere, Granato... I can't help but wonder if they were asked for comment towards a potential Game 7 win to send Buffalo to the conference final, but then the quotes were still included in the end-of-season piece after the crushing loss
@AdamBenigni@KeyBankCtr@salmaiorana@BleavNetwork What's the reason for posting the spread of -1.5 without the price on it? This isn't a football game where the spread actually tells you something. Over 90% of nhl games have a spread of -1.5 (this one for example has sabres at +210 to cover it)
@Schopptalk The Baltimore playoff game 2 years ago to reach the AFC championship game definitely felt like a "definitely gonna lose" beforehand. And honestly we got outplayed outside of the turnovers in that game
@MattRichWarren Context to what I'm about to say: Trump is literally my least favorite human. But on this particular issue, I refuse to defend the league one bit. It was so easy when all the games were on CBS, NBC, Fox, and ESPN. Now it's also Prime, Peacock, Netflix, etc. It's way harder now
@YardsPerPass Yeah, no way I would've paid $1,000 for home opener tickets, so if I hadn't jumped quickly like I did, I honestly probably would've paid the $150ish for preseason just to at least see the place. But also crazy to pay that much to not watch Josh Allen play football haha
@JeremyWGR Agreed! Markets fluctuate all the time. Who knows what prices will be in July/August. Not to mention a day before the game tickets could get way cheaper or way more expensive depending on supply
@Sabremetrix Hopefully I didn't make too rash a decision... I bought a pair at $365 per ticket the moment I saw the leak on Twitter. At least right now cheapest pair is now $613 per ticket
