@AndyBTCAdviser@wholemars@Tesla Did you do anything special to get the update or just wake up and find that it was available?Iโm 2 weeks in on a new model y and still have 14.2.2.5.
First time Tesla owner. Iโve had my Tesla for two weeks.
Iโve driven it close to 2000 miles however and it has been flawless.
Tonight I was heading out to the golf course to hit a few range balls. Itโs about 6 miles from my house no main roads very little traffic but tonight when I got to a stop sign, FSD decided to turn left heading towards the interstate instead of the normal route.
I immediately thought this is the navigation issues that everybody talks about so I disengaged, turned right on my normal route and headed off. Within a mile I realized that the traffic on my back roads route was backed up probably 50 cars. It wouldโve taken me forever to follow that route so I thought letโs do what FSD wanted to do and I turned around.
It took me out to the interstate one exit down, came back and got me to my destination in a fraction of the time.
Yes, it felt weird to go that direction, but it was the right thing to do. There was a back up on the interstate, but ironically it was an exit before I was entering and I was able to get ahead of it. It seems like FSD had someone in the sky, checking out all the options and this time it made the right decision even though I thought it had lost its mind. For that I am grateful. @Tesla@Tesla_AI
Iโm on 14.2.2.5. Just think how grateful I will be on 14.3.4๐
I was entering the interstate this morning in heavy traffic. There was a tractor trailor approaching and FSD quickly sped up to get ahead of it to enter the traffic flow. No anxiety...no slowing down...just making a good decision. I am a new owner...I don't think I will get tire of this.
I just took my first road trip in my Tesla as a first time owner. I was worried about navigation, charging, range, etc. The total trip was about 30 hours of driving.
End result, all the worries were a non issue. I drove the entire timeโฆor FSD did. It felt like 30-40% of my gas car drives.
And to be honest it was more efficient. The stops were already determined for me. I used them well and never felt like I was waiting to charge. But the time I stopped, plugged in, got a snack and bathroom break, the charging was done.
Iโm a believer and never want to do that kind of trip in a gas car again.
I love adding it with Grok. On a trip recently we were 10 miles away from charging station and I asked Grok to see if there was a local sub place to get a bite to eat.
One was quickly identified and Grok asked if I wanted it before or after charging.
I said before so it quickly added the stop. Took me right to the restaurant and then I got back in and hit one button to continue FSD to the charging stop.
Unreal. Like having my own personal travel agent with me at all times.
@MattWallaceTech@DavidMoss Just purchased my first Tesla. Model Y Premium. Insurance was exact same as my Toyota HIghlander Hybrid I have had for the past 4 years.
Simply amazing. Drove for 9 hours today in my new MY.
FSD the entire way. Only one disengagement because a semi decided to move into my lane on a bridge. FSD was handling it but I decided to disengage and take over.
At the end of the ride I was amazed at how easy it was - and safe.
Two years ago I had a Retina detachment and my distant vision and driving has been a challenge. I had stopped driving long distances because it was exhausting.
Today was a dream.
The technology worked flawlessly both inside and outside the car.
The ride was incredibly smooth.
The navigation was simple and navigating and charging was a piece of cake.
The only part of me that worked was my voice with Grok and my finger pressing Start FSD.
I am grateful.
Thank you @Tesla@elonmusk@Tesla_AI@SDembraski
Could not agree more. When I share my experience although it is new and limited as a new buyer, people have no clue. Itโs a bit of a branding issue. I have found that most people think of Tesla as two things. Too expensive and self driving is dangerous.
I moved from a Toyota Highlander Hybrid to a Model Y Premium and my Tesla cost less and has dozens of more benefits and safer!
