I use polarised filters to explain (some) quantum mechanics to my kids. How is it possible that adding a 3rd filter in between (the one at 45º) some light get to go through the otherwise black rectangle in the middle?

@gordonbrander There are certain rule sets that scale up better. For example, party games or social deception games where each player is expected to contribute very little can accommodate a bit more than a dozen players pretty comfortably.

@gordonbrander Most board games max out at 4 or 5. There are some that scale well to 6 or 7, but I would say most of those end up with a longer drawn out less fun version compared to splitting into two groups of 3.

@batfeula For me, the important thing is that I feel like I'm still learning. Usually that's been focused on honing a particular style, but I do feel it's very important to branch out, as I've done somewhat recently with figure drawing and painting.

Update on the pixel art created c.1875. There was a lot of speculation as to how this panel was made, so I decided to ask an expert. And who better to ask than Benjamin Colman, curator of American art at The Detroit Institute of Arts (@DIADetroit) where the cabinet now sits. 1/6
