New York Democrats on Wednesday took a step toward congressional redistricting in 2028.
Republicans in the minority blasted the move, despite the effort’s roots in President Trump’s request that Republican-led states redistrict this year.

This one was made at the start of Pride Month, no less.
It’s worth remembering that current Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, who is fifth in line to the presidency under President Trump, is the highest-ranking openly gay official in U.S. history.

Every year, I present a bottle of my homemade barbecue sauce to each of my Senate colleagues -- Democrats and Republicans -- as a way of recognizing the end of the state legislative session.
Regardless of what side of the chamber we sit on, I respect my colleagues’ commitment to public service. And, at the end of the day, there’s one thing we can all agree on: Nothing beats a good bottle of BBQ sauce! 🥩 👍

Remarkably, GOP Congressman Tom Kean has still not been seen in public since he last voted on Capitol Hill...on March 5 -- three months ago!
But he ran unopposed in his primary this week and will apparently run in November's general election to hold onto his House seat, which is one the more competitive ones nationwide.
In a statement Tuesday, Kean said: “Right now I am focused on my recovery and under the advice of healthcare professionals. I will transition from virtual work to in person work within a matter of weeks. At that time I will be completely transparent as to the nature of my medical condition."
His constituents -- and taxpayers at large who continue to pay his salary -- have no idea what the medical condition is or where he has physically been for the last three months.
It's hard to think of any other profession that would allow someone (much less a public figure) to disappear, without any explanation or transparency, for three months and still be paid.
