Long trained to study the history of political violence. See above - on the right. @univofstandrews @CSTPV . But comments offered in a personal capacity only.
Aren’t we glad for the RMT’s train strikes in 2022 and 2023?
They were striking because Conservatives wanted to do away with train guards
How much worse would the knife attack on LNER have been without the heroic train guard who intervened?
When anyone strikes, it’s worth asking why
If it’s to protect safety, uphold standards, or ensure a proper service, we should be grateful that they prioritise the public over profits
Possibly the most shameful @BBCNews act of cowardice yet- a report about IDF guards raping Palestinian prisoners which doesn't dare use the word 'rape'

Don't forget he ended the Bolivia/Armenia border dispute, the Swiss invasion of Japan, and the Nepalese attack on the Solomon Islands
People are still checking on Nambia...
Grateful to @campbellclaret and @RoryStewartUK for their considered questioning and indeed there has been no genocide in Gaza - tragedies, yes, of course - but the ultimate responsibility lies with Hamas
The suppression of Breakthrough News on YouTube in recent months is sooo outrageous. The numbers show it, we have over a million subscribers and suddenly can’t crack like 200 live viewers. And we keep getting comments like this.
If you work at YouTube and can help please reach out to me!
If you’re in media don’t dismiss this, it will eventually happen to you too if you’re left of center.
@katheder Bloody hell - this litany of micro-observation is all a bit comparable to the French 'between dog and wolf' stage of twilight:

The cat's out of the bag on @reformparty_uk's economic policy.
Nigel Farage made it clear yesterday that he wants to place the country at the mercy of rich people. Reform is a bigger threat to Britain's working class than Sir @Keir_Starmer's Labour Party.
It's further proof that the political class sitting in Westminster from Labour to ReformUK are totally out of touch with the lives of ordinary people.
The turbocharged Thatcherite tribute act on offer from ReformUK would be disastrous for tens of millions of Britons. The current neoliberal Labour govt is bad enough thank you very much, @Nigel_Farage.
What's required to fix the UK's economic woes is an interventionist govt that will:
▪︎ invest in modernising our crumbling infrastructure
▪︎ renationalise all the utilities
▪︎ remove the private sector spivs from the #NHS and every other public service
▪︎ reduce the basic rate of income tax
▪︎ introduce a higher minimum wage
▪︎ scrap the two child benefit cap
▪︎ increase social security payments
▪︎ start a massive council house building programme
▪︎ regulate private sector rents
If you don't want Britain to be turned into a nation of serfs beholden to the whims of wealthy oligarchs, do NOT vote for ReformUK.

Too many of my generation of journalists talk about 'radicalisation' without realising, as they would with a little self-knowledge and humility, that it is they who have been radicalised.
