@craigslutzkin We did a poster campaign calling for tenants and neighbors and any citizens walking by to call, write, and email the landlord and the City officials who could help.
We're told by City Council sources that it's official. The sidewalk shed at 26 W 9th Street is down. Let the tree breathe and let the light in. Thank you, neighbors.
It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood when the second-oldest sidewalk shed in NYC comes down after 23+ years. But can we trust this news? Is it official? George Adams, say something!
@Brohattan Does leaving up a sidewalk shed for more than 20 years count as un-civic behavior? We're asking landlord George Adams to Take It Down! We could use your spirited activism on W 9th St.
Egregious decades-long sidewalk shed at 26 W 9th St - it seems the contractor is eager to finish the work by the May 22 deadline. But will owner George Adams deliver? @ebottcher
Landlord George Adams has a deadline: Take It Down by May 22. The sidewalk shed at 26 W 9th Street has been blighting the block for more than 23 years. Time's Up, George!
@ebottcher My kid just took a dive on the broken sidewalk at 8 W 9th Street. This is my third request to 311 for a repair. Help us get it done, Councillor. Reference: 311-10106213
Landlord George Adams has until May 22 to do the work and take down the sidewalk shed at 26 W 9th St. Take it Down, George! Help, us Councillor Bottcher. @ebottcher
@ebottcher Don't be fancy. Sanitation and trash collection are the very opposite of metaphors. They are feet on the ground, material-object, elbow-grease, muscle and willpower chores. We all have them. Get it done!
